About the Job
As an animal care attendant with us at UDS, you will work in one or more units of the small animal department depending on your previous experience and competence.

Shifts may be scheduled at all hours of the day and night, including evenings, nights and weekends.

Your Background
You are an animal care attendant level 3 with at least three years of experience in clinical work at an animal hospital. You express yourself well both verbally and in writing in Swedish.
You enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams but can also work independently. You are driven by providing each patient with safe and quality care. Your approach is scientific, with an interest in evidence-based care and openness to adapting work methods in line with new research findings. You are communicative with a good ability to create and maintain good relationships with colleagues. You enjoy meeting animal owners in different situations and understand the importance of maintaining good customer relations. You are interested in teaching and participating in creating good conditions for research. You know that an event-driven operation with irregular working hours is something you can handle.
As a person, you are positive with a solutions focus, structured, can handle occasionally pressured situations, have good self-awareness and a willingness to contribute to the operation. You understand the importance of good collegial cooperation for everyone's work environment. In this recruitment, we will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
About Us
The Department of Clinical Sciences is responsible for undergraduate education, research and graduate education in anesthesiology, diagnostic imaging, animal care, epidemiology, laboratory animal science, surgery, clinical chemistry, medicine and reproduction. Across all subjects, our activities span all animal species.
At SLU University Animal Hospital (UDS), education, research and advanced animal health care go hand in hand. We train tomorrow's veterinarians and veterinary nurses and provide world-class care to companion animals, competition animals and production animals. We also disseminate knowledge to the public. By combining established knowledge with the latest research results, we develop the future of animal health care.
Under one roof we offer healthcare for horses, dogs, cats and other small animals. In addition to modern, purpose-built facilities, we have access to advanced diagnostic imaging and a veterinary medical specialist laboratory. UDS operations also include an ambulatory clinic that travels to stables and farms to examine and treat horses and farm animals.
