District Physician at Västerstrand Health Center

Welcome to a workplace where community, development, and care are in focus. We are now seeking a specialist in general medicine! Your Workplace We are a great team of 33 employees who work together to provide the best for our patients. We are proud of our cohesion, our shared focus, and the open-hearted atmosphere we have created in our workplace. The health center has approximately 11,000 registered patients. Currently, we have five specialists and two resident physicians. Several of our district nurses have advanced training in areas such as asthma-COPD and diabetes. At the health center, there is a counseling clinic with a counselor, psychologist, and psychiatric nurse. A welfare coordinator from Karlstad Municipality is also present on-site every week. We hold regular physician meetings for continuing education, dialogue, and collegial support. We work on developing our operations and mission together. We often say that we are large enough to be stable but small enough to easily make improvements in the unit if we want to. We have developed close collaboration with Karlstad Municipality and civil society around the health center. We know this is good for us and for our patients. Your Responsibilities You will work varied tasks with patient investigation, treatment, and assessment. One of our specialists is a "Silvia physician" and works primarily with elderly care facilities and home healthcare in our district, but there is an opportunity to combine these duties if you wish. We also offer digital consultations for our patients, which can be conducted from home if desired. Your Knowledge and Competencies We are seeking someone who is a specialist in general medicine and authorized to work within Swedish healthcare. You communicate well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and have an easy way of building good relationships with both patients and colleagues. We want you to enjoy working together with other professionals and to mentor students, residents, and postgraduate physicians. As a person, you thrive in patient encounters and always put the patient in focus, while also being able to see operations from a holistic perspective. You prefer to work in close collaboration with others and find it easy to understand and empathize with other people's situations. You are innovative, enjoy contributing new ideas, and have the ability to listen to your own intuition.
