The Skellefteå Local Care Area includes the Emergency Department, Medical and Geriatric Clinic, Rehabilitation Center, Psychiatric Clinic, 1177, Center for Operating Activities, and primary care in Skellefteå and Norsjö. Together, these units work toward providing good and accessible care. Norsjö Health Center is part of Skellefteå Primary Care West, along with Erikslid, Heimdall, and Boliden Health Centers. In Norsjö municipality, with approximately 4,000 residents, our health center is located. Most municipality residents are registered with us. Our team consists of about 20 employees with many different areas of expertise who collaborate to provide the population with good and accessible care. Our rehabilitation team successfully works with assessments, treatment, and sick leave matters. We offer patients experiencing mental health challenges contact with the psychosocial team. The facility also houses child health clinics and maternity services. Our close dialogue with the hospital, municipality, and other partners means that collaboration around patients is smooth and highly functional despite the long distances. Together with two district physician colleagues, you work with rural medicine. Together, you provide the population with continuity and security when they need medical care. The specialty of general medicine is characterized by meeting the patient throughout their life. The competency includes meeting people of all ages with all types of health-related problems and independently assessing and treating them. In specialist general medicine work, one should also follow an individual's various health problems over time and, in assessing health problems, consider the person's entire life situation. The fact that the health center is located 50 km from the nearest hospital makes the work even more varied and challenging than what can be offered at a health center in an urban area. You work to a high degree independently, but teamwork with physician colleagues and other professions is a natural part of the work. With us, you have the opportunity to supervise AT, BT, and ST physicians as well as students to become future colleagues. On-call duty in primary care is part of the position.
