Division Chief for Operations Support - Sweden's Digitalization Agency
Technology doesn't create change on its own. People who use it the right way do. Now we're building Sweden's new Digitalization Agency and we're looking for you to lead the digital transformation from the start. We work with what everyone takes for granted. The ability to communicate. With us, you'll ensure it works now and in the future. For everyone. About the role As a Division Chief, you'll be part of the management group of the new Digitalization Agency and have the opportunity to help shape both the agency, its culture, and working methods from the beginning. The Digitalization Agency is being formed by merging the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) and the Swedish Agency for Digital Government (Digg) into one unified organization. The aim is to strengthen Sweden's capabilities in digitalization, digital infrastructure, security, and preparedness. As Division Chief for Operations Support, you'll be responsible for the agency's common support and governance functions. The division includes HR, finance, communications, procurement, records management, archives, legal governance, security, and contact center operations. You'll have a central role in creating a cohesive, efficient, and operationally close support system that gives the entire agency strong conditions to carry out its mission. This means developing governance, processes, and working methods, and creating clear connections between different support and governance functions. The division also has important external contact points through dialogue and collaboration with the Office of the Prime Minister, other agencies, the public, and other external stakeholders. A central part of your assignment is to lead the operations through the transformation that follows when two agencies become one. You'll need to unite different working methods and perspectives, create long-term sustainable structures, and simultaneously ensure stability and quality in ongoing support to operations. The division also plays an important role in the agency's work on security and preparedness. You'll therefore need to lead a broad operation where requirements for efficiency, legal certainty, security, and operational benefit need to be balanced and translated into shared priorities. You'll lead through other managers and have responsibility for operations, budget, work environment, and results within the division. As a member of the agency's management group, you'll also be responsible for the agency as a whole and contribute alongside the Director General and other Division Chiefs to common direction, priorities, and the agency's long-term development. This role suits you if you're motivated by combining strategic leadership with change and development and want to build operations support that creates concrete conditions for the entire agency to succeed. About you To succeed in this role, you build trust through dialogue and collaboration and work without ego across organizational boundaries. You actively contribute to the agency's overall goals and shared objectives and create good conditions for cooperation, both within and outside your own division. You have a strategic perspective and the ability to see the bigger picture, long-term consequences, and connections. You translate political direction, the agency's goals, and strategic priorities into clear direction, priorities, and decisions within your area of responsibility. As a leader, you're calm and stable and act with good judgment even when conditions are complex, changing, or pressured. You create clarity, direction, and stability during transformation. At the same time, you're action-oriented and take responsibility for driving work forward. You translate decisions and strategies into action and create results and sustainable development through others. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and your leadership. We're looking for someone who has: An academic degree relevant to the assignment or other experience that the employer considers equivalent. Multiple years of experience in strategic management in larger and complex operations. Experience leading and achieving results through other managers. Experience with personnel responsibility, budget work, and operations planning. Experience leading major support, governance, or operations development functions. Experience in agency management or other strategic leadership roles. Experience from state operations or other politically governed organizations. Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing. It's a plus if you have: Experience in coordinating, developing, and streamlining internal processes and operations support. Experience in external collaboration and representing operations at a strategic level. Experience leading during crisis, incidents, or other event-driven operations. Our offer We take life seriously. With us, you can have a life both at and outside of work. When you're doing well, we're doing well. That's why we offer competitive salaries, flexible working hours, and the opportunity to work remotely. We also provide generous wellness benefits and two wellness hours every week. Additionally, you'll receive favorable terms for lunch, vacation, parental leave, pension, and sick leave. You'll work in modern activity-based offices at Hälsingegatan 38 in Stockholm.
