About the Department
The Diabetes-Endocrinology Clinic at Falun Hospital provides specialized outpatient care for patients with endocrine conditions. The largest patient group, comprising over 1000 individuals, consists of patients with diabetes. The majority of these have type 1 diabetes. The other endocrinological conditions managed by the clinic are many, with the largest disease groups being thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary disorders. The clinic staff includes secretaries, nursing assistants, foot therapists, endocrinology nurses, diabetes nurses, and physicians. We also collaborate with a dietitian. The clinic is open Monday through Friday during daytime hours.
Responsibilities
We are looking for someone interested in supporting people with diabetes. It is important that you are interested in technology, as most of our patients use CGM (continuous glucose monitoring) systems and insulin pumps. The responsibilities include conducting your own clinic appointments and providing telephone consultations to patients and healthcare personnel who work with people with diabetes. As a diabetes nurse, you will also participate in our consultation services to hospital departments. Tasks include, for example, educating patients in the proper use of medical devices, interpreting and analyzing glucose curves, adjusting insulin doses, making pump adjustments, and prescribing medical devices. The focus is on supporting the patient's self-care.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Licensed nurse with further education in diabetes (minimum 15 credits) or licensed nurse with a specialist nursing degree in diabetes
Merits:
Previous experience working as a diabetes nurse in an outpatient clinic setting
Personal Qualities:
You are interested in technology and data. You have a holistic approach to patient care, are responsible, and work in a structured manner. You are accustomed to working independently and making your own decisions, but also collaborating with the team around the patient. You appreciate close patient contact and are engaged in developing person-centered care at the clinic. We place great importance on personal suitability.
