We are now looking for a Democracy Coordinator who is curious about how we can use residents' perspectives in developing Helsingborg's municipal activities. About the Workplace Helsingborg Municipality has approximately 11,000 employees and 470 managers. The City Management Office is one of nine municipal departments. It is led by two Assistant City Directors and is organized into seven different divisions. The City Management Office exists to serve others - colleagues, other departments, Helsingborg residents, and businesses, to name a few. The City Management Office is to lead, develop, and coordinate the municipality's activities within overarching and common areas to provide conditions for positive development of Helsingborg. The position is located in the Democracy and Inclusion Unit. The unit's mission is to coordinate and develop the city's work on engagement and equal rights and opportunities. The unit is also responsible for promoting residents' engagement and the city's civil society, as well as conducting general elections. The unit consists of a unit manager and 9 employees. Job Responsibilities As a Democracy Coordinator at the City Management Office, you play an important role in the city's development work by creating conditions for our activities to involve residents in a systematic and value-creating way. You work across the city and combine strategic development work with practical support to colleagues and activities to strengthen forms of participation and influence. A central part of the assignment is system administrator responsibility for the city's digital engagement platform. This means you are responsible for the development, administration, and coordination of the platform as well as serving as support to activities using it in their work. Another important part is spreading knowledge, building capacity, and inspiring other activities in the city in methods and approaches related to engagement and participation. With an analytical and curious approach, you support colleagues and activities in the city by guiding and coaching in processes where we want to gather knowledge, experience, needs, and opinions from those we serve. You stay informed about what is happening within resident engagement both in the outside world and within the city's organization. Qualifications We are looking for someone with an academic degree or other completed post-secondary education relevant to the assignment. We believe that you: have worked for a few years and are experienced in planning, coordinating, and driving processes and projects with a focus on dialogue or engagement of residents or users have an interest in digital development and understanding of how digital tools can support dialogue, participation, and learning have strong ability to communicate clearly and pedagogically even in more complex societal issues and processes are an outward-looking and collaborative person who finds it easy to inspire others, build relationships and networks, and meet people with different roles and competencies in daily work are organized with the ability to handle multiple ongoing assignments simultaneously and are good at meeting deadlines It is advantageous to have experience working in the public sector and in the political decision-making process.
