Riga Technical University Registration No. 90000068977 We invite you to join the RTU team as a NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR for full-time work at the RTU Information Technology Department. We are looking for a responsible person with equivalent experience in the IT field and the ability to work independently, with excellent analytical skills and the ability to quickly find practical solutions in critical situations. You will be able to effectively plan your work, prioritize, clearly explain complex technical issues to colleagues, and will be open to new technologies and collaboration with other departments. Your responsibilities: Installation, configuration, maintenance, and improvement of network equipment, including firewalls, routers, and switches in the company's infrastructure. Management of a large number of switches (total count over 200 units) and network topology creation. Administration of Wi-Fi access points and their clusters (totaling over 600 units). Configuration and management of HPE ClearPass NAC software. Timely resolution of network problems reported by users and monitoring systems, troubleshooting hardware and software failures, as well as in-depth data flow analysis and debugging. Network performance monitoring, identifying deficiencies, and proactive problem resolution to improve infrastructure stability, availability, and reliability. Development and implementation of high availability and failover solutions in the network infrastructure. Enhancement of network security in collaboration with the security manager and participation in audit processes. Support for implementation and integration of new network solutions and external services. Planning and management of network software and service license renewals. Ensuring compliance with operational standards and best practices, as well as preparation and maintenance of accurate technical, configuration, and operational documentation. Collaboration with company departments, suppliers, business partners, and external service providers in problem-solving and ensuring integrations. Your experience and skills: Higher education in IT or telecommunications. At least 3 years of experience in IT systems and network administrator positions. Practical experience working with HPE Aruba network equipment (switches and wireless access points) and Palo Alto firewall devices. Experience with firewall cluster management. In-depth understanding of computer network architecture, network segmentation, and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN, IPSec, BGP, RADIUS / IEEE 802.1X, etc.). Experience with MPLS operation and VRF configuration. Understanding of VPN server configuration and support. Understanding of IT security standards, data protection, backup processes, and log systems. Good knowledge of Latvian and English languages for the performance of direct work duties.
