Your responsibilities
Linköping Municipality is now strengthening its work on data protection by establishing a new position that will serve as a link between operations and the General Data Protection Regulation and its accompanying regulations. As a Data Protection Officer, you will work closely with the municipality's operations and serve as strategic support in efforts to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation and related legislation. You contribute to identifying opportunities and creating conditions for appropriate data protection work. In this role, you are responsible for legal support and advice on the General Data Protection Regulation and related legislation to the municipality's boards and departments.
In your role, you will have varied and multifaceted work where you collaborate with all of the municipality's departments. You work closely with the departments' data protection coordinators and support them in making prioritizations and trade-offs within the data protection area. You also contribute to implementing the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation and related legislation into practical working methods in operations.
To spread knowledge and strengthen expertise within the organization, you will conduct training and, as needed, develop and revise cross-municipal policy documents within the data protection area.
In addition to work with the municipality's departments, you will also collaborate with the municipality's data protection officer and municipal lawyers at the Legal Department.

Your workplace
As a Data Protection Officer, you will be placed in the municipality's Legal Department. The department is responsible for cross-municipal legal matters and ensures that professional expert support is available in legal matters and also supports some of the municipal companies in data protection matters. The Legal Department is led by the Chief Legal Officer and the department also consists of six municipal lawyers, two data protection officers, and one information security officer.
The workplace is centrally located at Ågatan 40 and flexible working hours apply to the role.
You as a candidate
We are looking for you with a higher education or university degree that we consider relevant for the assignment. You have previous experience of qualified work with data protection matters and have knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation and related legislation. We consider it meritorious to have experience of working within the public sector. Experience in enabling the use of AI solutions through the application of the General Data Protection Regulation and good knowledge of the AI Regulation is also considered meritorious.
The position requires excellent ability in oral and written communication in Swedish as the work places high demands on interpreting and writing advanced text and being able to convey complicated legislation in a clear and educational manner.

The role requires that you have the ability to take your own initiative and independently drive issues within your areas of expertise. You should be able to structure your work and communicate solutions in a clear and educational manner, both orally and in writing.
