About the Position The Data Protection Officer has an independent advisory and supervisory role and is responsible for guiding the organization, management and employees about their obligations under data protection legislation. As a Data Protection Officer, your work tasks include: Responsibility for governing documents, processes and frameworks as well as structures and procedures within the data protection area. Investigation and assessment of suspected incidents as well as handling, reporting, notification and follow-up of identified incidents. Support in managing the exercise of rights and contact person in relation to data subjects. Provision of training. Position-taking on strategic data protection issues. Ensuring compliance with the agency's obligations in the data protection area. Reporting of data protection work to the Director-General and Board. The Data Protection Officer is organizationally placed in the Legal Department, directly under the department head and reports data protection work to the Director-General and Board. You also have: At least four years of current experience in independent legal work as a Data Protection Officer or data protection lawyer or within IT law at a large government agency. Experience in interpreting, implementing and applying EU legislation. Documented experience of applying the Freedom of Information Act (OSL) in digital environments.
