JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Database Architect, you have a key role in shaping and managing our overall database architecture. You are responsible for defining direction, standards, and design principles for our data platform, with a focus on scalability, security, performance, and long-term sustainability.
You work strategically as well as operationally—from setting architectural frameworks to supporting implementation and further development together with DBAs, development teams, and other IT functions. Our environment comprises nearly 300 database servers on a modern Windows and SQL Server platform.
In your role as Database Architect, you will
• define and develop target architecture for databases and data platform
• design logical and physical data models and structure information domains
• establish guidelines for data governance, data quality, and lifecycle management
• ensure robust solutions for availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery
• develop principles for security, monitoring, and performance optimization
• drive technology development and market awareness within database and data platform areas
• serve as an advisor and support to development teams and other stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is strategic, analytical, and sees the bigger picture regarding how data, systems, and architecture interact. You thrive in a role where you combine long-term thinking with practical implementation and translate complex technology into clear guidelines and solutions.
You work in a structured and thorough manner, break down complex issues into manageable steps, and anticipate risks in both platform and data environment. At the same time, you challenge established practices, contribute new ideas, and see opportunities for improvement and innovation. You collaborate closely with colleagues, share knowledge, and build on others' perspectives to achieve common results. You take initiative when something needs development, drive issues forward, and act independently even when conditions are not entirely given.
In your role as Database Architect, we see that you have
• a degree in IT from a university or college, or equivalent work experience that the employer deems equivalent
• several years of experience working with databases in larger IT environments
• documented experience with database architecture and data modeling
• strong knowledge of the Microsoft SQL Server platform
• experience with data governance, security, and performance optimization
• good understanding of integrations and information flows
• very good Swedish in speech and writing, and good technical English.
It is meritorious for the position if you have experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, Managed Instances), automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell), Service Manager, and BizTalk. It is also meritorious if you have knowledge of data warehouses, BI architecture, or data platforms as well as within Microsoft .NET.
The position is security-classified and requires Swedish citizenship. Security clearance and background checks will be conducted before employment.
