The Health and Sports Center of the Ministry of Interior announces a competition for a vacant position of Occupational Safety Specialist in the Work Environment Department (state civil service officer).
Requirements for candidates:
Compliance with the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law
Preferred: higher education in occupational safety or at minimum first-level higher education and basic education in the field of occupational safety
At least 1 year of work experience in the field of occupational safety within the last 5 years. Experience in state administration will be considered an advantage
Good computer user skills (MS Office standard programs)
Excellent knowledge of the Latvian language
High sense of responsibility, ability to plan your work time, and willingness to work in a team
Job duties:
Provide methodological assistance to institutions under the Ministry of Interior, as well as collect data and develop recommendations in the field of occupational safety
Provide consulting assistance to Ministry of Interior institutions on occupational safety matters within your competence, as well as basic requirements for hygiene and epidemic prevention measures
Provide methodological assistance in assessing harmful work environment risk factors in institutions under the Ministry of Interior, and prepare and formalize necessary documentation
Monitor the implementation of mandatory health examinations of employees in institutions
Prepare opinions on draft regulatory acts, develop internal regulatory acts in the field of occupational safety
In cooperation with State Labor Inspectorate specialists, prepare job descriptions for employees at risk of occupational diseases
Perform duties related to occupational safety at the Health and Sports Center of the Ministry of Interior
