Description As an employee in Gislaveds Municipality, you are a co-creator in your workplace. You are given the opportunity and expected to contribute to the development of the activities through your knowledge and experience. With us, respect for diversity and the equal value of all people are fundamental. Would you like to work with dance in a position where you can combine pedagogy, creativity, and scenic work – while meeting children and young people in various contexts? With us, you'll have a varied dance teaching position that extends from the upper secondary school's Aesthetic Program to Gislaveds Dance Studio, where children and young people aged 6 to 20 encounter dance at all levels from beginner to advanced. Here you have the opportunity to follow students' development over time, create together with engaged colleagues, and help shape a dance program with both breadth and high ambitions. A large part of the activities are located in Glashuset, Gislaveds culture and activity center, which is a creative meeting place where dance, theater, music, film, and other cultural activities come together. Glashuset is also located in the middle of Gislaveds cultural district, with the music school, concert venue, and library as nearby neighbors. At Gislaveds Upper Secondary School, you will teach within the Aesthetic Program Dance, including dance technique, dance training, and aesthetic communication. You are also a mentor for a class and become an important part of students' development during their time at upper secondary school. The school's dance specialization is college-preparatory and combines dance and creativity with theoretical studies. Students encounter various dance styles and have the opportunity to develop both artistically and personally. Within Gislaveds Dance Studio, you will teach children and young people in our broad course program. Here we offer, among other things, modern dance, jazz, ballet, street, show, and dance mix, from our youngest students and beginners to more advanced dancers. Meeting an audience is a natural part of our dance activities. Together with your colleagues, you will also work with performances, shows, and other scenic projects. You are also responsible for the school holiday activities offered by Gislaveds Dance Studio. You plan and conduct your teaching independently, but at the same time work closely with your colleagues in the dance subject team. Together you follow students' development, plan the activities, and create new opportunities for children and young people to develop through dance. This is a position for someone who enjoys teaching itself and wants to help develop a vibrant dance program. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a dance teacher degree and teaching certification, or other education and experience that the employer considers equivalent for teaching within both Gislaveds Upper Secondary School's Aesthetic Program Dance and Gislaveds Dance Studio. You have experience in teaching according to the upper secondary school curriculum and in working within cultural schools or similar activities. You also have experience in planning, implementing, following up on, and developing dance instruction based on the program's goals and mission. We are looking for a confident and engaged educator who enjoys meeting students of different ages, experience levels, and backgrounds. You can work independently and take responsibility for your teaching, but are equally comfortable with collaborative work – developing ideas, teaching, performances, and activities together. For us, it is important that you see both the individual student's development and the possibilities within the group. You contribute your pedagogical and artistic skills, are curious about development, and enjoy creating an environment where children and young people can grow, be challenged, and experience the joy of dance. Your participation as a colleague is deeply connected to your ability to collaborate and participate in your own and the program's development. For us, this means that you have good collaboration with your manager and colleagues, both at your own workplace and throughout the municipal organization. You treat everyone with high service standards, kindness, and quality through customer and service focus. You take responsibility for participating in program matters and are solution-oriented. We place great importance on personal suitability and that your view of being a colleague aligns with ours. We conduct record checks (criminal records) as a form of suitability assessment for all who are offered employment in activities where there is direct and regular contact with children and young people. The position is a temporary substitute during parental leave, January 2027 - January 2028, with the possibility of extension. Would you like to be part of our success? We welcome your application! In Gislaveds Municipality, full-time employment is a right and therefore vacant positions* are advertised as full-time. When the activities can accommodate part-time work, that is of course a possibility. *Positions shorter than 3 months and certain posts may be exempted. In preparation for the recruitment process, Gislaveds Municipality has taken a position on recruitment channels and marketing. We therefore firmly decline contact from media salespeople, recruitment sites, and similar.
