The Music and Culture School Vänersborg is now seeking new staff members for our team. About the Workplace The Music and Culture School Vänersborg has been a very important part of Vänersborg Municipality's cultural life for 60 years. With us, children and young people get the chance to develop within music, dance, theater, and visual arts & crafts. You will have approximately 35 work colleagues within the different subjects, and together you will meet approximately 1,400 children and young people in various courses each week. Within our activities, there is a wide range aimed at children and young people up to 19 years old. Our mission is to offer meaningful leisure time and the opportunity to develop within our artistic subjects. We see the importance of giving our children and young people the opportunity to develop based on their different circumstances and ambition levels. The Music and Culture School is organized within the Department of Culture and Leisure. The department has approximately 110 employees responsible for an art gallery, sports facilities, library, youth centers, and children's and youth culture. Within the department, collaboration takes place to work with the common mission of focusing on underrepresented groups and geographical distribution. Collaboration with the Children's and Education Department takes place, among other things, through cultural activities during school hours, El Sistema, and open activities at after-school centers. Job Responsibilities As a dance teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and developing dance instruction. The teaching is in groups and is aimed primarily at children and young people, but other target groups may also occur. Your job responsibilities include: Planning and conducting dance instruction. Adapting the instruction based on the participants' age and circumstances. Participating in performances, demonstrations, and other events. Collaborating with colleagues, students, guardians, and external partners. Contributing to the development and quality work of the activities. Teaching during school hours within Culture in School may also be included. The Dance Pool, which is part of the Music and Culture School Vänersborg, teaches children and young people in voluntary activities, compulsory primary school, upper secondary school, and adapted primary school, as well as in various dance assignments such as Creative School, Dance for Health, and other cultural projects in other municipalities in Fyrbodal. Working hours vary and are scheduled for both daytime and evening hours and certain weekends. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has solid expertise in dance and the ability to adapt instruction according to the participants' age, level, and circumstances. You have high pedagogical ability, strong commitment to children and young people's development, and an artistic drive that helps create enjoyable and developmental learning environments. We would like you to have higher education in dance pedagogy or other education that the employer considers equivalent. A teaching degree is an asset, as is experience working with children and young people with disabilities or mental health issues. Personal Qualities You are proactive, independent, and responsible, while also being good at collaborating with colleagues and other partners. You are curious about collaboration and have a creative approach to how the activities can reach different target groups. As a person, you are flexible, confident in your professional role, and have the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
