The Role of Chief Information Security Officer As Chief Information Security Officer, you will lead the development of Region Jönköping County's cybersecurity capabilities based on operational needs, threat landscape, risks, and regulatory requirements. You identify necessary capabilities, translate risks and requirements into priorities and cybersecurity requirements, and drive the necessary change. You monitor that processes and measures work and deliver the intended effect. The role includes strategically leading and developing the region's cybersecurity and preparedness by setting direction, goals, and long-term plans. You are responsible for strengthening the ability to prevent, detect, manage, and recover from cyber incidents, as well as developing work on cyber risks, vulnerabilities, supplier and third-party risks, security monitoring, continuity, and cyber resilience. You monitor the cyber threat landscape, translate changes into priorities, and report on the region's cybersecurity capabilities, risks, and development needs. You work closely with IT, the Chief Information Security Officer, operations, and other security functions to create cohesive security capabilities. Since implementation of measures often occurs in other parts of the organization, your mandate is to lead, set requirements, coordinate, and monitor cybersecurity work at the regional level. You report to the IT Director and are part of the IT Center's management group. This is a permanent full-time position. Start date is by agreement following a completed security vetting. Visit us on LinkedIn and Instagram: IT Center, Region Jönköping County: Overview | LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/company/it-centrum-region-j%C3%B6nk%C3%B6pings-l%C3%A4n/?viewAsMember=true) Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/itcentrum_rjl/) Your Profile To be a suitable candidate for the position, you have: • Extensive relevant experience in cybersecurity, information security, IT, or related areas. • Several years of experience leading major change or transformation initiatives. • Experience building or further developing functions, teams, processes, working methods, and governance models. • Experience working closely with management groups and senior leaders. • Documented ability to deliver results in complex organizations with many stakeholders and shared responsibility. • Ability to drive issues through the organization even without direct formal mandate. • Ability to translate operational needs, technical risks, and regulatory requirements into concrete priorities and actions. • Broad and current understanding of the cybersecurity field, such as cybersecurity governance, risk and incident management, vulnerability management, supplier and third-party risks, continuity and resilience, security monitoring, and security architecture. • Good knowledge of relevant regulations and frameworks, such as the Cybersecurity Act (NIS2) and ISO 27001 or equivalent. • Experience from the public sector, critical infrastructure, or other operations with high demands on security, availability, and regulatory compliance. • If you also have relevant certifications in cybersecurity and information security, we view that as a bonus, but it is not a requirement for the position.
