As a customs specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring correct, cost-effective, and compliant customs handling within the company. You will be an important function in developing customs flows, ensuring that the company's permits and procedures are followed, and that relevant employees have the right knowledge to handle customs matters. The role is both operational and development-oriented and involves many contact points, both internally and externally. You work proactively to identify improvement opportunities, prevent errors, and ensure that the company has efficient customs handling over time. Responsibilities Manage the company's ongoing customs handling and ensure compliance with applicable customs legislation Drive internal projects and improvement initiatives for correct and cost-effective customs handling Monitor and follow up on customs declarations, including ongoing controls of special procedures and spot checks on other flows Ensure that the company's permits with the Swedish Customs Agency are followed and used efficiently Plan based on forecasts and ensure that existing permits cover upcoming volumes and values Apply for and follow up on permits with the Swedish Customs Agency and ensure that time-limited permits are renewed in good time Ensure and develop procedures for special procedures and keep the associated log book updated Monitor messages in the CDS system and ensure that necessary feedback is provided within the prescribed time Contact customs brokers, transporters, the Swedish Customs Agency, and other relevant external parties Follow changes within the customs field and ensure that the organization adapts procedures and working methods as needed Inform and train relevant departments on customs-related matters Ensure that routine descriptions and guides within the customs field are current Conduct regular internal audits and follow up on any deviations Ensure correct documentation and archiving of customs declarations and associated documents Follow up and report relevant KPIs to your immediate supervisor Ensure that the company complies with regulations regarding import and export restrictions in collaboration with relevant functions Identify errors and initiate reviews when there is an opportunity to correct previous customs declarations Report significant changes, risks, and improvement suggestions to management About You We are looking for someone who has an interest in customs and experience working with customs-related matters, preferably in an organization with complex import and export flows. You have: Basic education in customs handling Previous experience in customs, logistics, finance, administration, or similar Basic knowledge of commodity classification Basic knowledge of special procedures Experience reviewing customs declarations according to established procedures Basic knowledge of Excel Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written It is important that you are unpretentious and have the ability to recognize when you need additional knowledge or support.
