About the Workplace As a controller with a focus on finance, you'll become part of the Overall Planning unit within the Governance and Support sector. The sector has overall responsibility for coordinating the municipality's four sectors and creating conditions for the municipality's strategic development at the overall level. In the role, you work closely with the municipality's Strategy and Finance Director, who is also your direct manager, and function as daily support in both strategic and operational financial matters. Your Assignment As a controller with financial responsibility, you'll have an independent and varied assignment focused on the municipality's financial management. You are responsible for analyses, planning, and preparation of complex financial issues that are of great importance for the municipality's long-term financial development. Your work includes developing decision-making materials, professional statements, and matters for the Municipal Executive Board and Municipal Assembly. The role also includes responsibility for the municipality's internal bank and financial management as well as the financial parts of the municipality's reporting in connection with the annual report. You'll also manage foundations and capital investments and monitor the external environment within finance and capital markets. An important part of the assignment is also to contribute to the development of processes, procedures, and governance within the municipality's financial area. The position involves both operational and strategic work with the opportunity to contribute to a long-term sustainable and well-functioning financial management. Your Competence We're seeking a person with strong interest in financial matters and who thrives in a role where analysis, strategic work, and operational implementation are combined. The work involves independently driving issues forward while close collaboration with your manager, colleagues, and the political organization is a natural part of everyday life. An analytical, structured, and thorough working style is important for the role. The ability to translate complex financial information into clear and well-founded decision-making materials and to present and explain financial contexts in an educational way to different audiences is a requirement. The position requires higher education or university education in economics, finance, or another field that the employer deems equivalent, as well as several years of experience in qualified economic work. Good analytical ability and experience with financial monitoring and reporting are important, as are very good skills in Excel and other digital tools. Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish is also a requirement. Experience from the public sector, preferably municipal operations, is a merit. The same applies to experience from audit activities as well as work within financial management, treasury, asset management, or similar areas. We also view experience working close to politically governed organizations and knowledge of municipal accounting and financial management as merits.
