The Social Services Department's work encompasses regulatory authority and service delivery for target groups including children and youth, people with substance abuse issues, people with mental health challenges, newly arrived residents, people in need of financial support, and those affected by intimate partner violence. The department is divided into an Adult Division, Youth Division, and Administration Division. We operate with a process-oriented approach where collaboration, development, and continuous improvements drive us forward.
We are now seeking two controllers for the Administration Division. The division brings together the department's support functions and consists of approximately twenty employees divided between two units. We work closely together to support operations. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
In your role as a controller focused on accounting and follow-up, you will have overall responsibility for the Social Services Department's accounting and financial closing work. You will ensure that accounting maintains high quality and complies with applicable legislation, recommendations, and the municipality's internal guidelines. The role involves close collaboration with the department's managers and other key personnel, as well as with other economists and controllers within the municipality.
You will work with, among other things:
• Ongoing accounting and quality assurance of bookkeeping
• Coordination, applications, and accounting of government grants
• Monthly, interim, and annual financial statements
• Budget work and follow-up
• Development and improvement of accounting routines and processes
• Support and advisory services on financial matters, with particular focus on accounting
• Reporting to the municipal management office, authorities, and other external parties
You will report to the division manager.
As a controller with us, you will be a key person who combines structure and holistic thinking with development drive to create the best possible conditions for operational results and for our residents.
QUALIFICATIONS
To succeed in the role of controller with focus on accounting and follow-up, we are looking for someone who has:
• University education in economics or other relevant education
• At least three years of experience in qualified accounting work
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language so that you can speak and write fluently
It is a merit if you have:
• Experience from a similar role, preferably in the public sector
To fit the role, you are meticulous, organized, and have a strong service orientation. You take initiative, work proactively, and enjoy driving work forward both independently and together with others. Since you will participate in multiple parallel processes, you need to be flexible and have the ability to prioritize.
You communicate clearly and pedagogically in both writing and speech. You have a strong ability to build trust and develop relationships with various stakeholders, which is crucial for ensuring correct accounting and providing reliable analysis and decision-making support. You also contribute to a good work environment and positive teamwork.
