We are now seeking a Control Application Engineer within Power Quality for a world-leading technology company at the forefront of the global energy transition. Job Responsibilities As a Control Application Engineer within Power Quality, you are responsible for control functionality in FACTS installations in major delivery projects. The role is central in the project team and spans the entire project lifecycle. You follow the project through the entire process from bid and tender work through to design and implementation, followed by verification and functional testing. The work also includes system testing in a lab environment, including simulation, before you conduct customer demonstrations. Unlike more specialized roles, you have end-to-end responsibility through the entire project lifecycle from start to finish. Key Responsibilities Design, implementation, and verification of power control algorithms and logic for FACTS devices Adaptation of base software to customer-specific requirements Combined testing of the control system's software and hardware Interpretation of customer specifications and participation in customer meetings. The work is performed in the company's control platform (the MACH system), using graphical programming tools for application development. Required Qualifications We are looking for someone with education in areas such as control engineering/Control Systems, electrical power/Power Systems, automation, Software Engineering, or similar field. We are open to both newly graduated engineers and candidates with a few years of experience. You have either a strong understanding of electrical power and good knowledge of power grid function, or a background in control and programming, such as work with function blocks, control theory, or control systems.
