We are now seeking a Manager of Waste Facilities responsible for the Gräfsåsen waste facility and landfill as well as the municipality's recycling centers. Gräfsåsen is a central part of the municipality's waste management, and operations encompass both waste reception and handling as well as long-term responsibility for the landfill's environmental work and development.

Your new role
As Manager of Waste Facilities, you are responsible for the operation and development of the Gräfsåsen waste facility and landfill as well as the municipality's recycling centers. You lead the operation through supervisors and staff members and have overall responsibility for personnel, work environment, budget, and operational development.
The role involves ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable waste management while developing operations to meet future demands and needs. You are part of the Waste and Water sector's management team and work closely with other managers, authorities, contractors, and external partners.
Regular duties
Responsible for operation, development, and monitoring of the Gräfsåsen waste facility and the municipality's recycling centers.
Manage personnel, work environment, budget, and operational responsibility.
Lead and develop operations together with supervisors and staff members.
Plan, prioritize, and follow up on operational goals and results.
Responsible for investment planning and development projects.
Ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with applicable legislation and environmental requirements.
Collaborate with contractors, authorities, and other stakeholders.
Participate in the Waste and Water sector's management team and contribute to the sector's long-term development.
Your qualifications
Requirements
Academic or post-secondary education in engineering, environment, civil engineering, or other education the employer deems equivalent.
Experience with leadership including personnel responsibility.
Experience leading and developing operations with responsibility for budget, work environment, and results.
Experience from technical operations, industry, waste management, recycling, or other operations-intensive activities.
Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
Good computer skills.
Driver's license (category B).
Meritorious
Experience in waste management or environmental work.
Experience working in a politically governed organization.
Experience with change and development work.
Knowledge of environmental legislation and permit-required activities.
Experience with contract management and collaboration with external stakeholders.
Experience with investment and project management.
