The General Estates Fund inherits when there are no relatives. Together, our testators contribute approximately one billion kronor annually, which finances various estate fund projects. The Estates Unit's mission is to protect the General Estates Fund's rights by settling estates in a legally secure, cost-effective, and ethical manner with respect for the deceased. We also make decisions regarding testamentary provisions where the Estates Fund is a legal heir. Work at the unit requires a strong ability to manage your own matters, but also the ability to cooperate and communicate both within the unit and with colleagues throughout the Swedish Courts Administration. Job Description As manager of the Finance and Administration Section, you are responsible not only for daily management but also have a central role in developing governance, monitoring, and financial processes within the Estates Unit. You actively contribute to the unit's strategic development and ensure that operations are conducted with high efficiency, control, and long-term perspective. The section consists of five administrators and four economists. The section's staff review accounts submitted by trustees appointed to settle estates on behalf of the General Estates Fund. They are also responsible for maintaining gravesites of the General Estates Fund's testators and assist the unit's legal staff with administrative tasks. The operations manage approximately one billion kronor per year, which places high demands on financial management, monitoring, and control. You have an important role in ensuring that these processes are fit for purpose, efficient, and provide good reporting material. The operation is in an intensive development phase where we are developing both work methods and system support. You are expected to take an active and driving role in this work, with responsibility for identifying improvement areas, prioritizing efforts, and translating them into concrete results. As section manager, you report to the head of the Estates Unit. You are part of the unit management team and are expected to actively contribute to the operation's overall priorities, resource allocation, and strategic direction. Are you our new colleague? We are looking for someone who has: An academic degree in economics, law, or other education that the employer deems equivalent At least three years of experience in case handling within public sector operations with a focus on finance, administration, or law Several years of current experience in management or leadership with personnel responsibility within public sector operations Experience in audit and/or control work or law enforcement work It is advantageous if you have experience with: Systematic quality and monitoring work Leadership within state operations Developing and creating work processes, procedures, or governance documents Personal Qualities To achieve the desired results in the role of section manager, we believe you have a genuine desire to create good conditions for the operations you work within.
