JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now seeking an engaged and development-driven department manager for the Building Permits Department!
The Building Permits Department works with building permits, oversight, and advisory services according to the Planning and Building Act. The department is an important partner for both residents and the business community and contributes to ensuring that development takes place with quality, good service, and sustainability in focus.
As manager of the Building Permits Department, you are responsible for leading, developing, and monitoring the department's operations. You have personnel and budget responsibility and work closely with both employees, management, and political representatives.
The role requires active and operationally-focused leadership where you lead and support employees in their daily work and contribute to the development of both the team and individual employees.
You ensure efficient processing within the building permits process and also work operatively by personally handling cases within the building permits area.
Through contact with authorities, the region, the business community, and citizens, you build good relationships both internally and externally.
In your role, you report directly to the Operations Manager for Community Development.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have a relevant academic degree in, for example, community development, physical planning, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
You have good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act and experience working within community development processes or related areas.
You have experience in management and leadership within public or politically-controlled operations.
You have a good understanding of planning and building processes, authority operations, and the demands placed on good service in the public sector, as well as the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
It is important that you have an interest in community development issues and have a solution-oriented approach that promotes the municipality's business community and development toward the goal of 20,000 residents by 2035. The department has a mandate from the political leadership to actively work with service and customer relations, which is expected to become a natural part of your duties and the operations you are responsible for.
As manager of the Building Permits Department, you are an important enabler of our municipality's development.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
You have good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
A driver's license (category B) is required.
