About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more employees. Salberga Prison opened in August 2007, and the location has a long tradition of state operations. The Salberga Operations Area consists of both a prison and a remand facility with spaces in security classification 1. In total, the operations area has approximately 600 places. 500 employees and 27 managers administer, lead, and develop operations in Sala. Job Description At the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, you work with a complex and important societal mission where you can make a difference. As a manager, you lead, develop, and follow up operations against established goals and provide support to your employees and fellow managers in daily work. Prison and probation work is teamwork, and you work with a good workplace culture, a good work environment, and ensure that routines and working methods are clear and functional. An important part of your work is staying informed and updated on the laws, regulations, and guidelines that govern the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. Your responsibilities include personnel, budget, and work environment management. You are part of the management group where the deputy director and your colleagues form an important platform for your leadership. Together, you and your colleagues are expected to take joint responsibility for both your own unit and the facility as a whole. In your professional role, you have an analytical perspective, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with your employees to drive development and change initiatives within one of the world's best prison and probation systems. We are looking for someone who has: Academic education or other education combined with work experience Management experience (personnel, work environment, and budget responsibility) Good knowledge of Swedish language in both speech and writing Driver's license category B It is also advantageous to have: Documented leadership training Experience working at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service Experience from multiple operational areas within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service Experience with government authority work, preferably within the justice system Experience with qualified security work Relevant experience from other public sector operations Interviews Interviews are scheduled for 260904, 260907, and 260908 Other Information The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has chosen to eliminate the cover letter and replaced it with selection questions relevant to the position.
