The Transportation Department (TA) is responsible for transporting and supervising detained persons. These are clients of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service who are relocated between remand facilities and prisons, to court proceedings, hospitals, and more. TA also transports detained persons on behalf of, for example, the Police, the National Board of Institutional Care, the Migration Agency, and psychiatry. Each year, approximately 135,000 transports are carried out, of which approximately 5,000 are international. The department consists of five sections as well as planning and operations support groups. The Transportation Department has both a regional level consisting of transport areas and a local level consisting of one or more transport offices. The Swedish Prison and Probation Service's Transportation Department will expand its operational activities to be able to handle more transports of detained persons to a greater extent. Job Description Within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, you work with a complex and important societal mission where you can make a difference. As a manager in the Transportation Department, you have both an operational and strategic role; it is important that you can quickly shift between different tasks and adjust when needed. You lead, develop, and follow up on operations and provide support to your employees in daily work – often at a high pace. Your work includes personnel, budget, and occupational environment responsibility (as well as follow-up and quality work) for approximately 20-30 employees, who primarily work as correctional officers with transport duties and various responsibilities for functional and specialized areas based on needs and competence. We are now seeking a first-line manager (criminal care inspector) for our new transport office in Mariestad. The office in Mariestad will be part of the Western transport area, which also includes offices in Gothenburg, Uddevalla, and Borås. Within the Section, you and your eight management colleagues will collectively be responsible for over 200 employees. You will be stationed in Mariestad, and your other management colleagues are stationed in Gothenburg (6), Borås (1), and Uddevalla (1). Currently, our management team is predominantly male. We are looking for someone who has: • Academic education or other education combined with work experience • Experience in personnel management • Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written It is advantageous if you have: • Management experience (personnel, occupational environment, and budget responsibility) • Completed the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's management development program or another management development program • Experience working within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service • Experience from multiple operations within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service • Relevant experience from other public sector activities • Experience in authority work, preferably within the justice system • Leadership experience in transport operations, transport planning, and/or regulated activities with a focus on safety or equivalent Other Information The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has chosen to remove the personal letter and replaced it with selection questions that are relevant to the position.
