Job Description Within the Swedish Correctional Service, you will work with a complex and important societal mission where you can make a difference. As a leader, you will help your employees reach established goals in different ways within a rapidly growing authority. As a manager, you lead, develop, and monitor operations against established goals and provide support to your employees and fellow managers in daily work. Correctional services are teamwork, and you work with good workplace culture, a safe work environment, and ensure that routines and work methods are clear and functioning well. An important part of your role is staying informed and knowledgeable about the laws, regulations, and guidelines that govern the Swedish Correctional Service's operations. Your responsibilities include personnel, budget, and work environment oversight for approximately 25 employees. You report directly to the Correctional Director of Karlstad Detention Facility and are part of the operational area's management group together with your fellow managers. You communicate clearly and can adapt your message based on your audience's needs. You remain calm and professional even in demanding situations and can adapt to changing circumstances. In your professional role, you have an analytical approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive development and change initiatives with your team within one of the world's best correctional systems. We are looking for someone who has: Academic education or other education combined with work experience Current experience as a manager within the Swedish Correctional Service (with personnel, work environment, and budget responsibility) Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written It is also meritorious to have: Documented leadership training Experience in detention facility operations Interviews Interviews are scheduled for 2026-09-10 Other Information The Swedish Correctional Service has chosen to eliminate the personal letter and replaced it with selection questions relevant to the position.
