About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. When we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand prisons, and prisoner transport. The Nyköping Business Area consists of both a prison and a remand facility with places in security class 2 and is located on the outskirts of Nyköping. In total, the business area has approximately 200 places. The Nyköping Business Area includes Nyköping Remand Prison, Nyköping Prison, and Arnö Remand Prison. Currently, the business area has a total of approximately 157 employees plus resource staff and 9 managers who manage, lead, and develop operations. The largest professional group is correctional officers, but the area also employs healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production managers, and others. The business area is undergoing organizational changes, like many other parts of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, to meet the growing needs for correctional interventions in society. Due to this, we are now seeking an additional chief (Criminal Care Inspector) at Arnö Remand Prison. Job Description Within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, you work with a complex and important societal mission in a modern authority where you can make a difference. As chief at Arnö Remand Prison, in addition to being an accessible and present leader, you will be involved in the daily work of developing security and client-centered work together with your staff. You will lead, develop, and follow up on operations and provide support to your colleagues, working closely with your peers in the management group. The role includes personnel, budget, and workplace environment responsibility for approximately 20 employees. You will be part of the Nyköping Business Area's management group, where the Criminal Care Director and your management colleagues form an important platform for your leadership as well as expert support regarding operational matters as you get to know your new area. In your professional role, you have an analytical perspective, strong problem-solving skills, and previous experience with change management, as in this current role you will work with your staff to drive development and change initiatives within one of the world's best correctional systems. The role is strategic and sometimes operational as you will be involved in operations-related matters with rapid transitions. Therefore, it is important that you can switch between different tasks and adapt quickly when needed. This requires your ability to create structure, achieve results, and exercise trust-based and close leadership.
