About the Swedish Correctional Service The Swedish Correctional Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now recruiting additional staff. We are the authority responsible for prisons, community-based corrections, detention facilities, and client transport. Community-Based Corrections Östergötland is expanding and currently has several new laws and changes to adapt to. This expansion creates opportunities, and new employees in various professional categories will need to be recruited over the coming years. Job Description Within the Swedish Correctional Service, you work with a complex and important societal mission where you can make a difference. As a leader, you help your employees in various ways to equip our clients to lead lives free of crime and drugs, what we call Better Out. As a manager, you lead, develop, and monitor operations and provide support to your employees in their daily work. Your responsibilities include personnel, budget, and workplace environment management for employees who primarily work as community corrections inspectors. You are expected to share responsibility with your colleagues for your own unit and, if needed, your colleagues' units. There are several managers at each facility, which requires very good cooperation. You will be part of the management group where the corrections director and your colleagues form an important foundation for your leadership. We are looking for someone who has: • An academic degree (at least bachelor's level), preferably in criminology, behavioral science, social work, HR, sociology, or similar, or alternatively another academic education combined with experience that the Swedish Correctional Service deems relevant. • Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written It is also a merit to have: • Documented leadership training, such as the Swedish Correctional Service's management development program or other leadership training • Experience in personnel management • Management experience (personnel, workplace environment, and budget responsibility) • Experience working in Community-Based Corrections • Experience working in the Swedish Correctional Service • Experience from multiple operations within the Swedish Correctional Service • Relevant experience from other public sector activities • Experience with authority exercise, preferably within the judicial chain Other Information The Swedish Correctional Service has decided to remove the personal letter and replaced it with selection questions relevant to the position.
