The Streets and Parks Unit is responsible for taking care of all streets, parks, playgrounds, schoolyards, outdoor areas of municipal properties and other public environments, so that they are perceived as attractive, clean and pleasant for both residents and visitors.
It is about creating a safe, secure, pleasant and attractive municipality.
The unit handles matters concerning the allocation of public space, excavation permits, parking permits, traffic regulations, parking regulation, parking enforcement and more. The department's mission also includes contributing expertise in the urban development process from idea to project completion.
The unit is responsible for this throughout the entire municipality, from the countryside in the west, via the town center at Storån, to the Stockholm archipelago in the east.
The Streets and Parks Unit is part of the operational area of Technology and Food Services. As unit manager you sit in the operational area's management group and collaborate there with other unit managers and the operations manager regarding the strategic development of the operational area's responsibilities. Each unit manager is responsible for their unit's area, but we support each other through collegial cooperation and through joint work in the central budget and follow-up procedures.
As unit manager you are responsible for a group of approximately 15 people, mainly facilities workers but also work leaders and project managers within infrastructure.
Job Description
As manager of the Streets and Parks Unit in Söderköping Municipality, you have overall responsibility for operations, work environment, personnel and budget.
In this role you are responsible for leading and coordinating daily operations within the unit and further developing the business towards set goals. You ensure that legal requirements, regulations and municipal guidelines are complied with and drive improvement and development work together with employees.
You shall also follow up on operations and participate in the operational area's strategic work.
Qualifications
Requirements for education and experience
University studies within the area of responsibility or other education or work experience that the employer deems equivalent.
Several years of experience in a supervisory role.
Expertise from the municipal technical field.
Driving license category B.
It is meritorious to have previous management experience within the municipal sector and to have worked in a politically governed organization.
Requirements for skills and abilities
You have strong communication skills and experience communicating both within your own operations and externally.
Your leadership is characterized by a motivating and inspiring approach.
You have good cooperation skills.
As a person you are confident, responsible and results-oriented.
