More about what we offer can be found at www.spsm.se/ledigajobb Within the special needs education support area, we work to ensure that our special education support creates conditions for all children, students, and adult learners with disabilities to have access to equitable, high-quality education and other activities in a safe environment. We supplement the special education resources of municipalities and schools. The support we offer can relate to the individual's learning, educators' work, or activities and organization. 1 position(s). DUTIES The Special Needs Education Support area includes support to schools and school authorities through: • Counseling • Professional development • Special education assessments • Promoting and producing educational materials • Government grants • Quality dialogues Right now we are in intensive development work in the agency to strengthen support to schools and school authorities. As Head of the Advisory Department, you will lead 9 units with approximately 140 employees who work at various offices across the country. You lead the work through trust-based management and governance where the needs of the target groups are central. You support your employees in following up on the units' initiatives in order to systematically analyze results and deepen understanding of the target groups and their conditions. You also contribute to systematically drawing lessons from completed work and building on SPSM's shared knowledge base, which is based on research and proven experience. Your responsibility also includes clarifying and developing the comprehensive special education support for those we serve. As a manager, you are responsible for the department's operations, personnel, finances, and work environment. Together with your managers and employees, and in cooperation with employee organizations, you work to achieve the goals according to the activity plan. You are part of the activity area's management group. Your assignment includes contributing to the activity area's and agency's entire operations, but also driving issues related to the Advisory Department's work and responsibility. The work requires close cooperation with other activities within the agency. The assignment includes: • leading and developing operations within the department and activity area • managing external contacts and collaborations with other actors • following up, evaluating, and analyzing special education initiatives and their effects Placement location is Härnösand, Malmö, Örebro, Gothenburg, or Stockholm. Travel is included in the position. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has • an academic degree in education, political science, social science, or other education that the employer deems equivalent • experience managing managers in a politically governed organization • worked strategically in a management group It is meritorious if you have: • experience as a manager in state operations • experience in the special education and/or disability policy area • experience leading employees remotely • experience with change management As a leader, you have a good ability to find solutions together with others. Your leadership is characterized by curiosity and being good support in your employees' development and engagement. You base your decisions on the organization's goals and the support we should provide for those we serve, and you are clear in your communication and expectations. You dare to make decisions for the organization's benefit and point out development needs. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. Employment form: Permanent employment. A probationary period of 6 months applies. An excerpt from the criminal record must be presented prior to employment.
