Gothenburg is full of stories. Some of them are found in the buildings we manage – such as Feskekôrka, Ullevi, Gothenburg Museum of Art, and Stora Saluhallen.
At Higab, we work to develop and care for the city's most beloved buildings and environments – from culturally historic landmarks to vibrant places for businesses, people, and gatherings. We do this long-term, sustainably, and with great pride in our mission.
Now we are looking for a head of the Finance and Procurement department who wants to contribute to the company's overall development while leading a secure, knowledgeable, and well-functioning department forward.
About the Role
As head of Finance and Procurement, you have overall responsibility for financial management and development within the company and group. You lead a department of ten employees and report directly to the CEO.
You work closely with the CEO and are part of the company's management team, where you are expected to contribute analysis, perspective, and forward-thinking. The role also involves close collaboration with our subsidiaries within the property group and important responsibility for matters concerning investments, property transactions, and Higab's long-term development.
This is a broad and strategic role with significant responsibility and many contact points. You lead and develop the company's work with group accounting, finance, budgeting and forecasting, insurance matters, procurement, and financial follow-up.
This is a position for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and daily operations. You need to be able to take a wider view, understand the business, and contribute to major decisions – but also be an engaged leader who builds trust, supports your employees, and creates good conditions for others to succeed.
We Are Looking For
We are seeking someone who has:
relevant university education
several years of experience with qualified finance work in a leadership role
good understanding of public finance and economics
experience from the real estate industry or other capital-intensive operations
strong knowledge of financing, investment, and property transactions
understanding of procurement matters and how procurement supports operations
good communication skills and confidence in representing the business in various contexts
Higab places great emphasis on your personal qualities. You will lead a department of experienced specialists in both finance and procurement with high competence and extensive experience. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is confident in your leadership and who thrives best when creating conditions for others to succeed.
We believe you are engaged, communicative, and unpretentious. You find it easy to build trust, appreciate open dialogue, and contribute to a work environment where people feel seen, included, and motivated.
To thrive with us, you need to appreciate long-term thinking and see the value in developing what already works well. You see the big picture, actively contribute in the management team, and have a genuine interest in both people and operations.
Why Higab
At Higab, we do not just work with properties. We manage parts of Gothenburg's shared history and future. Our buildings and environments mean something to many people, and it shows in the commitment of our employees.
Here you get to work long-term in an organization with strong expertise, high satisfaction, and a clear public mission. You become part of a company where people care – about the city, about the buildings, and about each other.
Collaboration and team spirit are promoted by the company and employees regularly organizing educational and social activities, and we also offer benefits such as wellness allowances.
