Västergötlands Museum is an independent foundation dedicated to conducting and promoting cultural heritage conservation and museum activities as well as other cultural activities in Skaraborg. Collaborating with representatives of state cultural heritage preservation in the region and managing the foundation's collections, buildings, land areas, and other assets are also part of the museum's mission. To learn more about our area, visit www.livetiskaraborg.se. We are developing and strengthening our operations and are seeking an additional building conservationist. Responsibilities We are looking for someone who wants to work broadly with building conservation, both at the museum's open-air museum Fornbyn and other visitor attractions, as well as with building conservation administration, knowledge sharing, advisory services, and assignments throughout Skaraborg. Part of the position involves our open-air museum Fornbyn, which reflects the region's architectural heritage. Your work at Fornbyn involves preserving and developing the environments and using Fornbyn as a public arena for building conservation. You will also be responsible for the museum's external visitor attractions: Kråks Manor, the museum farm Heljesgården, Ölanda Chapel, Kata Farm, and others. The position also involves providing advisory services and knowledge sharing to the public, handling planning and building permit matters, and to some extent conducting assignments such as conservation consultation, documentation, and investigations. You should be outgoing, experienced in leading projects, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. The position involves collaboration with other organizations and institutions to preserve, maintain, and share Skaraborg's architectural heritage. Qualifications · You have an academic degree with a specialization in settlement conservation or equivalent · Experience with administration and conservation review according to PBL (Planning and Building Act); certification is a merit · Experience with project management · Driver's license category B is a requirement · Experience working with open-air museums is a merit Employment Terms · Employment type: Permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period · Position: Full-time (100%) · Start date: By mutual agreement · Location: Skara, Västra GötalandVästergötlands Museum is an attractive destination and a well-known cultural institution in Western Sweden and nationally.
