The Building Permit Department is part of the Urban Development Administration and is responsible for handling applications for building permits, demolition permits, preliminary decisions, shoreline protection exemptions, supervision of ventilation systems and elevators, accessibility modifications, reportable measures, and reports of unauthorized construction. The case handlers provide the public with support and advice in the building permit process and participate in the planning process. The department ensures that developments align with the goals for desired building development in the municipality, requirements for the local environment, and sustainable development. The Building Permit Department is organized into seven units and consists of over 100 employees working with building permits, supervision, and accessibility modifications. Job Responsibilities As a Building Permit Coordinator, you will have responsibility for progress and coordination of a team consisting of architects/case handlers and inspectors. Your responsibilities include: - Preparations for case handling and follow-up and monitoring of the team's cases, as well as handling of simpler building permit matters - Responding to questions from customers via email and phone - Collaboration with other coordinators in the unit to ensure case balance/distribution across the department and to discuss work methods, routines, and processes - Other building permit administration Qualifications We are looking for an engaged and service-minded coordinator who enjoys working together with others. You are confident in yourself and find it easy to build trust and establish good relationships. You have experience leading a group and are skilled at coordinating, delegating, and prioritizing tasks and responsibilities. As a coordinator, you lead your team to work proactively and results-oriented by being inspiring and taking a coaching approach. You have a higher education degree or vocational training as a building permit case handler, along with documented several years of experience in similar tasks involving coordination and coordination work. It is advantageous if you have previously worked with the building permit process and if you are interested in IT systems, as much of the work involves digital management. We maintain a positive work climate where we work together, support one another, and stand by each other. Therefore, we are looking for someone who takes responsibility toward yourself, your colleagues, and our customers. As an employee, you contribute to the department's development efforts. Since this position is being advertised during the vacation period, response times may be longer than usual. We ask you to contact us primarily via email, and we will respond as soon as we are able. The selection process will begin after the advertising period has ended, and interviews are planned to be conducted during weeks 35 and 37. Additional Information Our workplace at Köpmansgatan 20 is currently being renovated, where all urban development administrations will gather.
