Community Development is a division that works both strategically and operatively within the areas of urban planning, land management, nature conservation, development, environment and health, building permits, and mapping/surveying/GIS, as well as publicly financed transportation, always with overall community development in focus. Assignments come from the Municipal Executive Board and the Environment and Community Development Board. We have approximately 100 employees in Community Development, ranging from urban planners, engineers, strategists, project managers, architects, and inspectors to handlers and coordinators.
Do you want to be part of shaping a growing Nyköping? We are seeking a building permit handler for our fully digital building permit unit. For us, good customer service is essential, and in addition to case handling, we place great emphasis on service and advisory support.

DUTIES
We are a unit of 14 people consisting of a coordinator, business development manager, coordinator, building permit handlers, building permit architect, building inspectors, compliance handlers, and a manager.
As a building permit handler, you work with case handling according to the Planning and Building Act (PBL) and the Environmental Code's regulations on shoreline protection. A large and important part of your daily work involves supporting, guiding, and providing advice to those you meet.
Your main responsibilities are to:
· Review applications and make decisions.
· Provide professional service and advisory support to residents and businesses via phone, email, and meetings.
· Prepare matters for the political board ahead of decisions.
· Conduct site visits, document, and write decisions/orders.
You have daily contact with citizens, property owners, and businesses. We actively participate in the municipality's "Focus Satisfied Customer" project to continuously improve our service.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is service-oriented and enjoys an advisory role. You are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions, even in more complex situations. Since you explain laws and regulations to both individuals and businesses, it is important that you are a good listener who can adapt your communication so that the message is clear and understandable to everyone.
Further, you are organized, thorough, and have the ability to see the big picture without losing sight of the details. You enjoy working at a fast pace with many contacts and continuous development.
Requirements
· You are trained as an architect or building permit handler, or have other education and experience that can be assessed as equivalent
· Experience as a building permit handler
· Very good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act (PBL) and Boverket's Building Regulations (BBR)
· Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing
· Very good computer skills as all case handling is done digitally
· Hold a Class B driver's license
