At the Building Permit Unit Gestaltning, you'll have a key role in creating safe, well-thought-out, and functional environments for our residents. As a building permit handler, you're an important part of the urban development process – you review building permit applications, guide applicants, and ensure that laws, regulations, and plans are followed. Your Responsibilities As a building permit handler, you'll work with the entire chain of the construction process: • Handle applications for building permits, demolition permits, preliminary decisions, and notifiable measures. • Review drawings and documents according to the Planning and Building Act (PBL) and other relevant regulations. • Present cases to the building committee and make decisions through delegation. • Provide advice, information, and service to private individuals, companies, and other authorities. • Participate in detailed planning processes and shoreline protection matters. • Conduct and handle supervision. • Contribute to developing our work processes and strengthening digital development. The work is varied and involves both independent responsibility and close collaboration with colleagues within and outside the unit. Your Qualifications We're looking for you who have: • Relevant education as a building permit handler, architect, or lawyer from a university or college - or other education or experience in urban development that we consider equivalent. • Knowledge of the Planning and Building Act or experience working with building permit-related matters. • Class B driver's license - you need to be able to conduct site visits within the municipality. • Excellent ability to express yourself in Swedish both orally and in writing. It's a merit if you also have: • Experience with building permit processes, either from municipal work or through work in the construction, consulting, or real estate sector. • Knowledge of building technology. • Experience working in detailed planning processes. • Handling of shoreline protection permits or supervision.
