We are looking for a business-oriented Business Controller who wants to be a key person in the development of our Prefab division. We're looking for someone who doesn't just report numbers, but wants to understand the business behind the results, identify opportunities and risks, and contribute with analyses and recommendations that help the business make better decisions.
As a Business Controller, you work closely with the division manager, functional heads, and the project organization. You become an important sparring partner in matters concerning profitability, productivity, project management, capacity utilization, and strategic priorities. We are a project-oriented business where every deal is unique and where strong analytical ability, business acumen, and a proactive approach create real value.
As Business Controller, you have overall responsibility for financial monitoring, analysis, and operational support within the division. You work both operatively and strategically to develop management and monitoring.
You will report to the CFO and be one of 12 great colleagues in the finance department at Thomas Betong, and your location will be at our headquarters on Södra vägen in central Gothenburg.
Main tasks and responsibilities as Business Controller:
Responsible for the division's financial monitoring, forecasts, and budget process
Develop and analyze the division's profitability at project, customer, product, and operational level
Identify deviations, trends, and improvement opportunities and propose concrete actions.
Advisory collaboration partner with the Division Manager in decisions and prioritizations
Ongoing tracking of project profitability and profit calculations
Drive the development of KPIs, dashboards, and operational monitoring.
Analyze project portfolio, capacity, capacity utilization, and resource planning
Support the organization in investment and business cases
Initiate, lead, and drive change and development work
Prepare monthly financial statements, forecasts, and budget work
Qualifications and experience
Academic degree in accounting, industrial economics, or equivalent
Several years of experience as a Business Controller or similar role.
You understand accounting, but are passionate about analysis and helping develop the business
Have worked with KPIs, budgets, and forecasts, preferably in a project/production-oriented business
Have worked with profit calculation models and risk management and have handled issues related to project accounting
Have worked in operational roles and can explain various financial relationships in a pedagogical way
Good system skills and proficient in Excel. If you have knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI, or ERP Bos, that's a merit.
