WORK RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now seeking an additional budget and debt advisor in Höganäs Municipality.
The position of budget and debt advisor is placed in the Economics and Integration Unit at the Social Services Department in Höganäs Municipality. You will become part of a team consisting of 12 engaged colleagues: budget and debt advisors, social workers in economic assistance, social workers in estate administration, integration mentors, and a unit manager. We work together with great commitment and focus on quality, development, and collaboration.
As a budget and debt advisor, you work closely with people who for various reasons have ended up in financial difficulties and need support to organize their finances. In this role, you provide guidance in personal finance and create structure and overview together with the individual over their financial situation, guiding them toward long-term sustainable solutions.
Together with the individual, you map income, expenses, assets, and debts, draw up budgets and payment plans, and provide guidance and support throughout the debt restructuring process. The work is characterized by close collaboration with social workers, landlords, the Enforcement Authority, other authorities, creditors, and internal and external partners.
An important part of the assignment is also preventive work, which may include holding lectures, educational initiatives, and other targeted activities for various target groups. Höganäs Municipality is at the forefront of work on suicide prevention related to over-indebtedness, where early detection, collaboration, and support measures are important parts of reducing the risk of mental health problems for people with serious financial difficulties and therefore constitute an important part of the work.
The position also includes eviction prevention work where you work to support individuals and families at risk of losing their housing. Through close collaboration with landlords, the Enforcement Authority, social services, and other relevant actors, you work to find solutions that enable people to remain in their homes and prevent homelessness. You thus become an important part of the municipality's work for social sustainability and security for our residents.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with relevant education or equivalent experience, for example as a social worker, economist, or behavioral scientist, as well as knowledge of relevant legislation.
You have good communication skills and express yourself clearly and in a structured manner both verbally and in writing. You are professional, attentive, and have a respectful approach. Furthermore, you have a good ability to work independently on your cases, while enjoying collaboration in a team and contributing to shared responsibility. As a person, you are engaged and have a solution-focused approach. You are action-oriented and you always stay one step ahead.
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, and a background check will be conducted prior to employment.
It is also an advantage if you have a driver's license; access to a company car is available.
