About the Operation Start Your Medical Career in Ludvika Ludvika offers a BT (Basic Training) program where you will take responsibility, develop clinically based on a varied patient population with close support from colleagues. Here, you become part of a welcoming operation with engaged supervisors, where you have the opportunity to build broad clinical experience and grow confidently in your role as a physician. Ludvika Hospital is a community hospital serving approximately 37,000 residents and offers specialist care in internal medicine, geriatrics/rehabilitation, and nearby acute care with 24/7 operations. It also houses services such as primary care with associated mobile teams, imaging and functional medicine, palliative care, and ambulance services. The acute care placement is conducted in internal medicine at Ludvika, where you work in both inpatient wards and the acute emergency department. Independent work with your own patients occurs while close and active support from on-call physicians is available. The psychiatry placement is conducted in Ludvika's outpatient psychiatry and inpatient psychiatry in Säter. The primary care placement is conducted at a health center in Ludvika. BT is a clinical introductory service and a mandatory part of new specialist physician training. In Region Dalarna, we offer a comprehensive, time-limited employment with the goal of also helping identify our future ST physicians and specialist colleagues. Work Duties Since we are seeking someone who wants to become our future specialist, we would appreciate if you have an interest in longer-term collaboration and a willingness to contribute to developing our operations together with us in Region Dalarna. We seek someone with strong social competence and good judgment. You are easy to work with while possessing good leadership ability. You are mature, motivated, and have good self-awareness. You have the knowledge, skills, and approach required to successfully perform the work of a BT physician. The position may often involve multiple work locations and car commuting may be required. Start spring 2027 - in mid-February or mid-May. The position comprises, in addition to a thorough introduction, clinical training under supervision in general medicine, acute care, and psychiatry, totaling 54 weeks of service - including 4 weeks vacation. The training consists primarily of clinical work with continuous supervision and recurring structured competency assessments. Additionally, recurring training sessions aimed at achieving approved basic competence according to National Board of Health and Welfare regulations and BT objectives. Qualifications Formal Competence: You must have Swedish medical licensure at the start of basic training Have not completed Swedish AT (internship). The Position Requires: Swedish personal identification number Attached upper secondary school grades Good verbal and written communication skills in Swedish, which will also be assessed in the selection process. Clinical experience from Swedish health and medical care with good references is required.
