We are now seeking a Fire Safety Coordinator who wants to contribute their expertise to Linköping University's continued development. About the job As a Fire Safety Coordinator, you will have a central role in driving, developing, and coordinating the university's fire safety work. Your work contributes to ensuring that students, employees, and visitors can work, study, and spend time in a safe environment every day. You will become the university's internal expert in fire safety and have a clear and important role in our fire safety organization. You develop advice and guidelines for, among other things, systematic fire safety work and provide qualified support to the facilities unit in renovation and new construction projects. The assignment also includes being responsible for flammable and explosive materials. The university's safety and fire safety work is conducted collectively in a network format and in close collaboration with different parts of the operations. This means you will work both strategically and close to operations, with the opportunity to influence and develop work methods across the entire institution. The position also includes tasks in other occupational health and safety matters as well as some administration. About you We are looking for someone who wants to use their expertise in fire safety, occupational health, and safety in a multifaceted operation. You are confident in fire safety matters and can handle them in a complex organization in a professional, factual, and trustworthy manner. You make well-considered assessments where the needs of the operation and the consequences for both individuals and the organization are weighed together. You have a holistic perspective and understand how your decisions impact the operation in the long term. You can place individual issues in a larger organizational context and actively contribute to sustainable, practical, and safe solutions for the university. The role is built to a large degree on relationships, trust, and the ability to bring others along. Therefore, you need to have very good collaboration skills and an easy way to create and maintain professional relationships with managers, fire safety representatives, and other stakeholders. You are confident in your role, clear in your communication, and enjoy contributing knowledge in educational situations. As a specialist, you drive issues independently, in a structured manner, and with good judgment. We want you to have: relevant education in fire safety, risk management, or occupational health good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, orally and in writing B-category driving license It is meriting if you have: a degree as a fire safety engineer, occupational health engineer, or equivalent experience in fire safety work related to the handling of flammable and explosive materials experience with systematic fire safety work in a complex operation experience with other safety work, such as chemical safety or rescue services experience with systematic occupational health work Your workplace You will become part of the Employer and Environment Unit, a LiU central specialist unit with broad expertise in occupational health, employment law, fire safety, laboratory safety, and environment. Here you will have colleagues with specialist knowledge in several related areas and a context where collaboration and knowledge exchange are a natural part of everyday work. About the employment The employment is a full-time temporary position for six months due to a leave of absence. There is a good possibility that the position will subsequently be advertised as a permanent employment. The main workplace is at Campus Valla, but the tasks cover all our campuses in Linköping, Norrköping, and Lidingö. Start date as soon as agreed.
