The Fire and Rescue Service in Eskilstuna is part of the Community Development Administration in Eskilstuna Municipality. Eskilstuna currently has five fire stations with a total of 160 employees, approximately half of whom work full-time at the main fire station at Sundbyvägen 2. In 2028, we will expand with a sixth fire station. The Fire and Rescue Service's overarching goal is to prevent and minimize the consequences of accidents so that Eskilstuna is a safe and secure municipality to live and spend time in. DUTIES Working as a firefighter for the Fire and Rescue Service in Eskilstuna means you will have a broad assignment and a wide variety of tasks. The work involves preventing and reducing the risk of fires and accidents as well as minimizing the consequences of accidents that occur. A typical work week can therefore consist of practicing various procedures to maintain our capabilities, educating and informing the public, responding to traffic accidents, fires, cardiac arrests, drowning incidents and animal rescues, as well as maintaining and servicing vehicles and equipment. As a firefighter, you will have the opportunity to develop our operations and participate in various work groups based on your interests and expertise. In addition to the personal development you will gain, there are also opportunities for a career where experience and further training can lead to positions such as crew leader/group chief, operations leader/fire chief, or fire inspector. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who: • have completed at least two terms of SMO training when employment begins (three terms are advantageous) • are a swimmer at the level equivalent to Guldbojen • have achieved satisfactory results on the treadmill test (250w) and smoke diving according to AFS 2007:7 • can work in confined spaces and at heights • have training in smoke and chemical diving • hold a B driver's license (C or CE driver's license is advantageous) As a person, you are flexible, collaborative, and proactive. You are confident in yourself but also thrive in a strong team, where cooperation and communication are crucial. Because the assignment involves many social contacts, you are outgoing and preferably have knowledge of Eskilstuna and the surrounding municipalities.
