Firefighter – More than just a job. Some careers are more than just a job. Firefighting is one of them. Read more about what the work entails at sbff.se/brandman For the summer of 2027 (temporary position) we are looking for both you who are a trained firefighter and you who have a different background and who will receive the training you need from us. The most important thing is that you have your head on straight, a big heart and a desire to help. Your requirements to work for us are: Category B driver's license (manual or automatic) Completed upper secondary education (Swedish or foreign; for foreign education you must validate your grades – you do that here) Guldbojen swimming certificate (must be issued in a swimming hall with a deep pool which involves diving to 3-4 meters depth) It is also meritorious if you are or have studied Accident Prevention (SMO) and/or have work experience in the rescue service, as a full-time firefighter or RiB (part-time). If you have completed LIA (15 weeks) with good references from us, this is also a merit. In addition to the above, you need: Good physical fitness Ability to work at great heights and in confined spaces Good Swedish in speech and writing In our work we meet people in different, and sometimes challenging, situations. Therefore it is important that you have good social and communication skills and are attentive and considerate in your interactions with others. You are flexible when circumstances change and have the personal maturity and emotional stability required to feel safe and act professionally even in uncertain situations. The employment begins with daytime training before you start working in your team. The work involves service during daytime or shift work during daytime, nights and weekends.
