Your role
As a road maintenance worker, you ensure that the roads in the mine are safe, passable, and functioning as they should. You work on ongoing maintenance and improvements to maintain a high standard. The work varies and requires both technical knowledge and the ability to solve problems when conditions change.
You work close to daily operations and contribute to keeping production running smoothly without interruption. Using various machines, you ensure that the roads are durable and meet operational needs.
Your team
You work in a small team of two people focusing on road maintenance. The position involves a 7/7 schedule during daytime on alternating weeks, meaning you work seven days in a row followed by seven days off.
Your responsibilities
As a road maintenance worker, you primarily work on preventive maintenance of roads in the mine, but also on building new road sections and performing ditching and sludge clearing. The role requires flexibility and strong prioritization skills, as unexpected situations can arise with short notice.
You have daily contact and cooperation with other departments in the mine, and your role is an important part of keeping production running. In your work, you primarily use machines such as road graders, tracked excavators, and wheel loaders.
Examples of work tasks include:
Maintain underground roads
Rebuild existing roads
Grade the roads
Ditching and other measures to direct water away
Clean pump pits

We are looking for someone who is self-driven and has a service-oriented approach. You are organized, find it easy to prioritize your work tasks, and thrive in a role where you take personal responsibility. At the same time, you are a team player, and we consider it very important that you have good communication skills and can cooperate well both with your immediate colleagues and with other functions within the mine.

To be considered for the position, you need to have upper secondary education and good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. A Class B driver's license is also required.
Good computer skills are a merit. It is also an asset if you have training in earthworks and construction or machine operator training, or alternatively if you have good knowledge and experience of road maintenance and road construction.
Experience with underground road maintenance is a merit, as is the ability to perform simple troubleshooting and repairs of machines. If you also have experience operating a road grader, we consider that particularly valuable.
