About Us Solar Scandinavia AB (org.nr 559403-4141) is a Swedish company operating in international trade and procurement of equipment for solar energy installations. Through an established supplier network in Europe and Asia, we supply inverters, battery storage, and solar panels to the Ukrainian market, where we collaborate with companies that design and install renewable energy facilities. Ukraine is today one of Europe's fastest-growing markets for energy storage and distributed power generation. This makes our business both commercially attractive and legally demanding. We are therefore seeking a corporate counsel who wants to take full responsibility for the legal function in an international business environment. About the Role The role is purely legal in nature. Operational contact with suppliers is handled by our procurement function – your task is to draft, review, and quality assure the agreements and documentation that underpin our business operations, and to ensure that they comply with Swedish, Ukrainian, and international law. As corporate counsel, you will: – provide ongoing legal advice to management on business-critical matters; – draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements – supply and distribution agreements, reseller and agent agreements, confidentiality agreements, securities, and guarantees; – provide legal support throughout the procurement and supply chain between Europe, China, and Ukraine, including delivery terms (Incoterms), payment and security solutions, and transport and customs-related matters; – handle matters within contract law, corporate law, international sales law (CISG), and dispute resolution; – manage contractual relationships with our Ukrainian counterparties and ensure they are properly structured in accordance with Ukrainian law; – ensure compliance with sanctions regulations and export control, and conduct counterparty due diligence; – identify, assess, and manage legal risks in the business, including credit and counterparty risk; – coordinate work with external legal counsel in Sweden, Ukraine, and other jurisdictions; – develop the company's internal legal procedures, contract templates, and decision-making materials. What We Are Looking For Requirements – hold a Ukrainian lawyer's license – svidotstvo pro pravo na zanyattia advokatskoiu diialnistiu (proof of the right to practice law), issued after passing the qualification exam before KDKA in accordance with Ukraine's law on advocacy and legal practice; – are registered in Yedynyi reiestr advokativ Ukrainy (Ukraine's unified register of advocates); – hold a law degree from a Ukrainian educational institution or equivalent legal education; – have at least five years of experience in qualified legal work within commercial law, contract law, or corporate law – from a law firm, in-house counsel role, or equivalent; – have documented experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements; – work independently, methodically, and solution-oriented, and are comfortable providing clear recommendations even when information is incomplete; – have a commercial mindset, strong collaboration skills, and high integrity; – have the right to work in Sweden. Desirable Qualifications – experience with Swedish commercial law or working in a Swedish company; – experience in international trade, supply chains, or the energy sector; – experience with sanctions regulations, export control, and trade finance; – experience with arbitration and cross-border dispute resolution. Languages The role involves daily work with Ukrainian counterparties, Ukrainian-language agreements, and Ukrainian legal practice. Language requirements therefore follow directly from the tasks: – Ukrainian in speech and writing at native speaker level or equivalent – required; – Basic Swedish with the willingness and ambition to develop further in the language – required. We view positively applicants who do not yet speak Swedish fluently but are prepared to build up the language during employment; – English – desirable; – Russian – desirable. For those who have not previously worked in Sweden, this includes: – 25 vacation days per year with vacation pay – five weeks of paid vacation is statutory in Sweden under the Vacation Act; – occupational pension corresponding to 5% of salary, in addition to the general pension contributed by the state; – wellness allowance of 5,000 SEK per year for exercise and health-promoting activities – the maximum tax-free amount under Swedish rules; – sick pay from the employer under law in case of illness, thereafter sickness benefits from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency; – parental leave under the Parental Leave Act, with parental benefits from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency for up to 480 days per child – the right applies to both parents; – 40-hour work week with flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work; – notice period and employment protection under the Employment Protection Act (LAS).
