Residential Support Worker at Utsikten

We are seeking a residential support worker for the municipality's residential facility Utsikten. This is a permanent position. Utsikten is a group home within social psychiatry, pleasantly located on the outskirts of the city center with 14 residential spaces and a common area. We are seeing an increase in complex cases with comorbidities, which means we need to strengthen our operations with additional expertise. The facility operates under the Employment, Skills and Welfare Administration, whose core mission is to provide support and assistance so that people become self-sufficient and live independent lives, to provide support, assistance and services to children, young people and adults through investigations and interventions, and to promote adult learning. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Working at the group home Utsikten consists largely of motivating and supporting people with mental health disabilities and comorbidities in their daily lives. We place the individual's needs at the center using case management and low-arousal approaches as our working methods. Support measures should aim to provide opportunities for residents to maintain and utilize their own resources and live as independent a life as possible based on their circumstances. The work involves both practical care work and providing various forms of cognitive support. It also requires collaboration with nearby institutions to ensure that residents' needs are met. Working hours vary between day/evening, night and weekend shifts. QUALIFICATIONS We require that you are a certified nursing assistant with a focus on psychiatry, a certified mental health nurse, or have other education that can be assessed as equivalent. Since travel within the municipality may occur, a driver's license (category B) is required. We see it as an advantage if you: • are experienced with documentation and care plans according to the Social Services Act • have previous work experience with substance abuse issues, psychiatry and/or comorbidities • experience with ESL, MI, IBIC and low-arousal approaches. In this role, it is important that you remain calm, stable and composed in stressful situations. Days with us can change quickly, so it is also important that you are flexible and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. The work involves a large part communication, both with colleagues and residents, and therefore you need to have good communicative skills and be able to adapt to different situations that may arise.
