Residential Care Educator at Women's Housing Facility

About the Job: Voppa Omsorg is seeking a full-time substitute (parental leave coverage) for one of our residential facilities located in Gothenburg. Working hours vary—day shifts, night shifts (on-call sleeping duty), and weekend work are included. The position starts in late August and runs through April 2027 with the possibility of extension. Our facility houses clients aged 21 and above, either in shared collective housing or individual apartments. The collective housing is exclusively for women, while apartments accommodate both women and men. The residence is drug-free, and we support individuals in social vulnerability with the goal of enabling them to live as independently as possible. Job Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include supporting residents according to their individual care plans and providing supportive counseling. The position also involves administrative tasks such as documentation and communication with relevant authorities, police, etc. The role will also include some housekeeping work to maintain a home-like environment for our guests. The facility operates 24/7, and on weekends and nights you may work alone, so you should be comfortable with responsibility-taking and making quick decisions. Qualifications: Relevant Education: To be considered for this position, you must have completed or be currently pursuing post-secondary education as a social worker, behavioral scientist, social pedagogue, or equivalent. We work based on several approaches and methods such as TMO, LAB, CBT, and MI, with MI being a requirement for this position. Experience: We are looking for someone with previous experience working with people in crisis and in need of support due to intimate partner violence, substance abuse issues, and/or mental health problems. Documentation: The position requires experience with documentation and the ability to express yourself clearly both verbally and in writing, as the work is partly administrative. Driver's License: You must be comfortable driving a car as it is part of daily work. You are calm and secure in yourself and can convey that calm to others. You are a warm and attentive person who believes in people's capacity to change their lives. Additionally, you are pedagogical, empathetic, and creative in your approach. You must also be comfortable responding to urgent situations. Final candidates will be required to provide criminal record clearance.
