Laboratory Medicine is a regional organization with operations in Lycksele, Skellefteå, and Umeå. Laboratory Medicine Västerbotten comprises approximately 520 employees within clinical genetics, clinical immunology and transfusion medicine, clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, and clinical pathology. The organization also includes biobank, infection control, and tissue facility. Operations are accredited. Clinical Chemistry, where you will be placed, is one of five laboratory specialties. We are located at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå and at district hospitals in Lycksele and Skellefteå. We have a total of approximately 135 employees, of which approximately 30 are stationed in Skellefteå. Operations are open 24 hours a day. Clinical Chemistry in the region receives approximately 6,000 test tubes daily and performs approximately 7 million analyses annually. The analysis range consists of approximately 200 different tests, most of which are performed on automated multianalyzers. Laboratory Medicine is a high-technology operation managed through various IT systems, with ongoing systematic work to continually improve operations. At the laboratory in Skellefteå, in addition to clinical chemistry, there is transfusion medicine with a blood collection unit and acute serological activities, a specimen collection unit, and rapid testing within clinical microbiology. Operations are an integrated part of healthcare and the laboratory is open 24 hours a day, every day. In a few years, the laboratory will move into new facilities in the new hospital building. You will work independently but also as an important part of the team. There is an opportunity to influence your choice of work shifts and scheduling based on the work-time model in place. We are now seeking biomedical analysts or medical biologists for our team in Skellefteå! 2 position(s). DUTIES As an employee with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that make people feel secure. You will work with maintenance, analysis, and validation of patient samples on large analytical instruments as well as with manual methods and specimen sorting. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a licensed biomedical analyst, biomedical scientist, or have other scientific university education of at least three years that the employer deems equivalent. Experience in clinical laboratory work is a merit. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. We are looking for you who are service-oriented and can operate with a professional approach in various situations with the ability to collaborate with multiple professional categories.
