Description:

WE WANT SWEDEN'S HAPPIEST RESIDENTS. ARE YOU WITH US? In Flen Municipality, we are committed to building something sustainable. A community where people thrive, grow, and stay. Our new and bold vision, Flen – Sweden's Happiest Municipality, is more than just words. It's a direction we've chosen together and a reminder of who we serve. In every interaction with a resident, in every decision we make, in every day we shape – we think with our hearts. And it starts with us. Now we're looking for a special education coordinator for our disabilities services. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES As a special education coordinator in Flen Municipality, you have overall responsibility for educational work, quality development, and social documentation. Your most important task is to be a role model and share knowledge about educational methods with staff. You develop, monitor, and improve work methods to ensure high-quality services and that users' needs are met. You manage 3–4 units and collaborate with other special education coordinators to strengthen educational work across the entire department. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that all users have opportunities for development, participation, and self-determination in accordance with applicable laws and guidelines. You support staff through mentoring and training in clarifying pedagogies and other methods that promote users' independence and well-being. You lead quality meetings and drive development initiatives in work teams. To ensure good collaboration between different stakeholders, you are responsible for coordination and communication. You receive new assignments from coordinators or management, inform staff, and assist with introduction and implementation of new work methods. You also report needs for methodological support and skills development to coordinators or management. Additionally, you are responsible for developing and quality-assuring social documentation, establishing implementation plans, and monitoring that work is carried out properly. WHAT WE REQUIRE FOR THIS ROLE: A vocational university degree as a special education coordinator of at least 200 credits. Good skills in using computers and digital tools. Experience with clarifying pedagogies and low-arousal approaches. Good Swedish language communication skills, both spoken and written. A valid driver's license (Category B). WHAT WE VALUE HIGHLY: Post-secondary education in the disabilities field. Experience working with people with disabilities or long-term mental health conditions. Extensive knowledge and many years of experience with clarifying pedagogies, such as AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication). YOUR PERSONAL QUALITIES We believe you are someone who takes responsibility and enjoys managing multiple tasks simultaneously. You are flexible and adapt to new situations, while being thorough and organized in your work. As a special education coordinator, you are service-oriented and collaborate well with others, but you can also work independently when needed. You are creative and solution-focused, and enjoy developing work teams and driving the operation forward. Your ability to see possibilities and find new ways of working is important for success in this role. We place great importance on personal suitability. WHY WORK FOR US? In Flen Municipality, we want to give you good conditions to thrive both at and outside work. We offer, among other things, vacation exchange, fitness allowances, and reimbursement for patient fees up to the high-cost threshold – and there are more benefits than that. Many of our workplaces also have good commuting options. You can read more about what it's like to work for us on the municipality's website: flen.se. READY TO APPLY? We recruit based on competence and do not read personal letters. Apply by submitting your CV, any certificates, and answering the selection questions. As an applicant, you are responsible for documenting your competence clearly in your answers to the questions, as these form the basis for our assessment. Be careful to answer thoroughly and avoid referring to your CV. At the interview, you must show valid identification, such as a passport or national ID card. A driver's license together with a certificate of identity (downloaded via the Swedish Tax Agency) is also acceptable. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must instead show that you have a valid work permit or that you are exempt from the requirement.
