WE WANT SWEDEN'S HAPPIEST RESIDENTS. ARE YOU WITH US? In Flen municipality, we invest in building something lasting. A society where people thrive, grow, and stay. Our new and ambitious vision, Flen – Sweden's Happiest Municipality, is more than just words. It is a direction we chose together and a reminder of who we serve. In every meeting with a resident, in every decision we make, in every day we shape – we shall think with our hearts. And it starts with us. The Authority Department is now seeking an engaged and communicative social worker for our team on the Children and Youth Unit. THIS IS WHAT YOUR WORK WILL ENTAIL As a social worker with us, you have one of the municipality's most important responsibilities – to contribute to safety, development, and better living conditions for children and young people between 0 and 20 years of age through the exercise of public authority. Our unit consists of two investigation groups with different age focuses: children 0–12 years and young people 13 years and older. The groups work closely together and we help each other across boundaries when operations require it. The unit also has a placement group responsible for following up placed children and for investigating and supervising foster families. When you start with us, you will become part of one of our two investigation groups. Your main task is to investigate children's and young people's need for support and protection according to the Social Services Act, with Children's Needs in Focus (BBIC) as the foundation. You meet children, young people, and their families in different life situations and work to find sustainable solutions with the child's best interests in focus. An important part of the work is conversing with children, guardians, and other people in the family's network. You also collaborate closely with, for example, schools, health and medical care, police, and other actors around the child and family. We work according to Signs of Safety, a method that focuses on identifying strengths, resources, and solutions together with the family to create a safe and secure situation for the child. The assignment also includes documentation, record-keeping, follow-up of granted measures, and preparing decision-making materials. Depending on the nature of the case, you make decisions according to delegation or prepare cases for decision-making. To create quality in investigations and security in your professional role, we usually have two social workers on each case. You also receive close support from experienced group leaders and engaged colleagues who are happy to share knowledge, experience, and support in everyday work. Working hours are arranged on weekdays, daytime. FOR THIS ROLE, WE REQUIRE THAT YOU: Have a degree as a social worker (socionom) or have education that the employer deems equivalent according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations on eligibility for work within child and youth care in social services. Have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. Have a Category B driver's license. WE VALUE THIS HIGHLY: Education and experience with Signs of Safety. Previous experience working with children and young people within social services. Experience meeting children and adults in vulnerable situations. Education in BBIC (Children's Needs in Focus). YOUR PERSONAL QUALITIES We believe that you are a person who is engaged, responsible, and has a genuine interest in working with children, young people, and their families. You are confident in yourself and can create trusting relationships even in situations that may be complex or challenging. You work in a structured and independent manner, while also seeing the value of cooperation and contributing to a positive work environment. Because the assignment involves many contacts, both with individuals and with collaboration partners, you are communicative and have a good ability to listen, treat people with respect, and adapt your communication based on situation and target group. You have a professional approach, good judgment, and can prioritize and make well-founded decisions. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. WHY WORK WITH US? In Flen municipality, we want to give you good conditions to thrive both at and outside of work. We offer, among other things, vacation exchange, wellness contributions, and compensation for patient fees up to high-cost protection – and there are more benefits than that. Many of our workplaces also have good commuting options. You can read more about what it is like to work with us on the municipality's website: http://flen.se. READY TO APPLY? We recruit based on competence and do not read personal letters. Apply by attaching your CV, any certificates, and answering the selection questions. As an applicant, you are responsible for documenting your competence clearly in your answers to the questions, as these form the basis of our assessment. Be thorough in your answers and avoid referring to your CV. At interview, you must show valid identification, for example a passport or national ID card. A driver's license together with proof of identity (downloaded via the Tax Agency) also works. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you instead need to show that you have valid work permission or that you are exempt from the requirement.
