Family Health, Child and Youth Rehabilitation (BUH) and Child Psychiatry (BUP) in Region Gävleborg together form a county-wide operational area with approximately 350 employees. We have operations in Gävle, Bollnäs, and Hudiksvall. Our target group is children and young people with moderate to severe mental health issues up to 17 years of age. The doctors at BUP and BUH form a unit together with a shared manager. We have a joint responsibility for medical aspects of care, care development, prioritizations, and we carry this out in collaboration with unit managers and care developers. The doctors work at multiple locations and maintain good collaboration. We primarily work daytime on weekdays, plus on-call duties during weekends during daytime hours. We have just over 16 specialist positions and currently eight specialist training (ST) positions. We have joint continuing professional development, ST training responsibilities, participate in development projects, and hold regular joint development days. We foster a good, collegial culture with shared duties and lack of pretension. We are now seeking a deputy head of care unit who, together with us, wants to contribute knowledge and commitment to continue driving the development of care for children and young people with mental health issues in Region Gävleborg—for the future. The position can be based in Gävle or Hudiksvall. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES In your role as deputy head of care unit, you will work closely with the heads of care units for BUP and BUH. Together with your colleagues on the units, you will work from a holistic perspective. The position is full-time, with a 50% management and 50% clinical split. You will have personnel responsibility for the training doctors. The role is operational and activity-focused, where you are present with your staff and serve as an engaged, flexible, and solution-oriented leader. You report directly to the head of care unit and are part of the operational area's management team, which means exciting work where you are engaged in the results and development of the entire operational area. As deputy head of care unit, you will, among other things: • actively work with staff on development and follow up on the unit's goals • maintain close collaboration with the head of care unit regarding scheduling • integrate operational goals concerning ST doctors, such as training objectives, production, collegiality, and professional maturity in collaboration with the local study director and unit manager • maintain conditions for an attractive workplace through dialogue, teamwork, and participation • create good conditions for internal and external collaboration • drive development work forward, where you as a leader contribute to creating a culture characterized by continuous improvement and a good work environment • maintain individually adapted clinical duties. You are independent and driven, with the ability to be a safe and present leader, both on-site and remotely. In this role, you will primarily lead training doctors who are geographically dispersed, which requires responsive and accessible remote leadership. You take initiative, drive change, and adapt when circumstances shift. You work in a structured and methodical manner and find it easy to plan, organize, and follow through on processes, whether it concerns annual planning, improvement work, or daily management. You may be a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry, but related specialties such as other psychiatric branches or general medicine can also work. Furthermore, you are communicative and have good collaboration skills, and you create conditions for dialogue and participation both in operational work and in our joint forums. Through your commitment and positive approach, you contribute to a culture characterized by development, security, and progress. The position requires: • specialist medical competence within a psychiatric branch or general medical specialty • interest in leadership Previous work experience in child psychiatry and/or work with children and young people is a merit. Since this position involves direct and regular contact with children, an acceptable extract from the police criminal record is required. This will be obtained as part of the recruitment process.
