Our proximity to the business community, both locally and globally, gives us far-reaching influence and opportunities for change that makes an impact. All that is needed is a place where ideas have room to meet and grow. That is what we have created – and you are invited. Change starts here! The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences is one of five faculties at Linnaeus University. We conduct education, research, and collaboration in health, care, and natural sciences. The Department of Medicine and Optometry conducts research and teaching in eHealth, medicine, and optometry with a total of 24 employees. The department is home to https://lnu.se/forskning/forskargrupper/ehalsoinstitutet/, a dynamic, interdisciplinary knowledge and learning environment that coordinates the subject of e-health at the university and drives research and evaluation projects with a focus on user and citizen benefit. eHälsoinstitutet collaborates with many external actors in regions, municipalities, research institutes, universities, and companies, as well as internally with Linnaeus University's research center of excellence https://lnu.se/forskning/forskargrupper/linnaeus-university-centre-for-data-intensive-sciences-and-applications/ (DISA) and knowledge environments https://lnu.se/mot-linneuniversitetet/kunskapsmiljoer/hallbar-halsa/ and https://lnu.se/mot-linneuniversitetet/kunskapsmiljoer/digitala-transformationer/. In addition, eHälsoinstitutet operates a master's program, independent courses, and commissioned education in e-health. An important external collaboration partner in e-health is Region Kalmar County, a collaboration that has existed for many years. Linnaeus University and Region Kalmar County are making a joint major initiative between 2024-2032, https://lnu.se/mot-linneuniversitetet/samarbeta-med-oss/Projekt-och-natverk/samverkan-e-halsa/, with the aim of creating a strong ecosystem around e-health in Kalmar County, with national and international visibility. Within this collaboration, Region Kalmar County operates eHealth Arena, whose purpose is to contribute to increased use of e-health services and welfare technology, increased business growth in the e-health field, and increased efficiency in health and care. Both Linnaeus University and eHealth Arena are partners in https://www.healthdatasweden.eu/ (HDS), one of Europe's digital innovation hubs (EDIH), and Sweden's only one focused on health and e-health. Subject area for the position: Health Informatics Location: Kalmar (for the time being) Employment scope: Full-time for four years Start date: By agreement. According to the Higher Education Ordinance (HF 4 ch 12 c§), an assistant professor may, upon application, be promoted to lecturer if they possess the qualifications for a lecturer position and are deemed suitable for such a position according to the applicable assessment criteria. Such promotion results in a permanent employment as lecturer. Application for and review of promotion to lecturer shall occur during the assistant professor employment period. Job Description The purpose of the position is to provide the employee with the opportunity to develop independence as a researcher and to acquire scientific and pedagogical qualifications to meet the requirements for a lecturer position. The position is divided between research (50%) and teaching (50%). We are seeking you to contribute over four years to developing the work undertaken as part of the joint major initiative https://lnu.se/mot-linneuniversitetet/samarbeta-med-oss/Projekt-och-natverk/samverkan-e-halsa/. The position involves contributing, based on existing joint structures and initiatives, to the continued development of an interdisciplinary, nationally leading, and internationally visible knowledge and research environment in e-health. Important development areas within e-health concern artificial intelligence and other advanced analysis of health data, patient self-care/self-monitoring/sensor technology and remote care, and automation. This environment should also locally in the county create attractiveness for employees, students, and companies in the cluster being built around https://www.ehealtharena.se/ and contribute to freeing up time for close and resource-efficient, high-quality care for both residents and health and care employees. Research is expected to take place in collaboration with researchers connected to the environment and with active participation in the environment's research school, seminar activities, conferences, and similar. An equally important part of the position is to work with and develop the teaching linked to the research environment. Work tasks thus include teaching at bachelor, advanced, and doctoral levels, with course responsibility, planning of instruction, teaching and examination, as well as supervision of independent work. Additionally, the position includes keeping up with developments in your own subject area and societal development more broadly that is relevant to the collaboration between Linnaeus University and Region Kalmar County.
