JLT
Do you want to help shape the future of public transport, infrastructure, and regional development? We are now seeking a Deputy Traffic Director who wants to work in a strategically important role where societal issues, people, and leadership meet.
The role of Deputy Traffic Director
As Deputy Traffic Director, you are the Traffic Director's closest collaborator and strategic support in the management and development of operations. You will work on some of the region's most important future challenges in traffic, infrastructure, and mobility.
In this role, you represent the organization in many different contexts and collaborate with, among others, traffic companies, political representatives, municipalities, the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket), and other regional actors. You contribute to translating political goals into operational development and are an important force in developing the organization, culture, and leadership. As Deputy Traffic Director, you are part of JLT's management team.
You work on complex issues where many perspectives need to be balanced and where collaboration, trust, and good communication are crucial.
This position is a permanent employment with start date by agreement.
Your future workplace
At JLT, we have a real mission – to connect the entire region. Every day, we help people travel to work, studies, healthcare, and leisure activities. Our goal is to make it easy to travel smart together and use public transport as a way to develop Jönköpings County.
Our operations include public transport by bus and train as well as service trips including local transport, paratransit, and medical transport. We employ approximately 100 staff members, and our mission is carried out in collaboration with the contracted transport companies. We work with care, curiosity, and pride, and we strive toward making public transport account for 20 percent of all motorized travel in the region by 2040. We are located in modern facilities at Werket in central Jönköping.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a strong strategic focus and solid experience in traffic, infrastructure, or societal development issues. You have management experience and are an appreciated leader who can lead complex development and change processes. We value that you understand what it means to work in a role at the interface between politics and operations.
You hold a university degree in a relevant field for the position, such as urban planning, engineering, political science, economics, or civil engineering, or equivalent experience that we deem comparable.
You have the ability to see the big picture, are communicative and confident in contexts where different interests need to meet, and are driven by creating results together with others.
We believe you are someone who thrives with many contact points and collaboration issues in your work. You are also someone who finds it easy to build relationships, who inspires trust, and is a good ambassador for the organization. For us, it is central that you have a genuine interest in both societal issues and people. Even in a role where others have operational and personnel responsibility, you have the ability to contribute to the development of both operations and staff.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
Our offer to you
In the coming years, we face several major initiatives in traffic and infrastructure while strengthening our internal organization and collaboration with external partners.
As Deputy Traffic Director, you become part of this development journey and have the opportunity to make a real impact and contribute to future mobility in Jönköpings County.
As an employee with Region Jönköpings County, you have access to our employment benefits. Some of them increase your basic security, while others add a little sparkle to everyday life.
