At Gällivare Rescue Service, you work as an important team member in a small organization. We have a large geographic area to manage, ranging from mines to mountains and vast mountain forests. Most of the municipality's residents live in Gällivare town center, where our full-time station is also located. In our villages, we have five rescue corps who assist us by being first on the scene and providing initial help. We handle approximately 300 emergency calls per year. We collaborate with our neighboring municipalities and industrial fire brigades in the area. You can read more about the municipality and what we can offer you here! javascript:void(0) Shift Commander Gällivare Municipality As an Assistant Shift Commander, you are a work supervisor for personnel in both daily work and operational situations. You work closely with the regular Shift Commander on your shift team. Together you plan and are responsible for daily work at the station and other tasks within prevention and operational activities. Being a Shift Commander involves leading and planning your own and your team's work based on the entire rescue service's mission, which means you and your personnel will work with both accident prevention and damage mitigation tasks. You independently manage your own matters/work tasks, but the work also requires close collaboration with colleagues and other agencies around you. The Rescue Service in Gällivare Municipality is under development and you will therefore have a natural role in improving and developing the processes, routines, and working methods in the organization. You are expected to have the ambition and desire to develop the operations in accordance with the municipality's operational goals together with the unit chief. In your role as Shift Commander, you also have contact with Gällivare's residents, businesses, other agencies, and similar organizations. We see that you have good knowledge of the Act on Protection Against Accidents and other laws and regulations that govern and affect the rescue service's work. We require that you have good computer skills with commonly used programs and are able to express yourself clearly orally and in writing, in order to, among other things, educate your own personnel and members of the public. You are independent, responsible, and can communicate in both speech and writing in a manner that inspires confidence. You should have the will to help develop the organization forward. Since the rescue service is in the midst of intensive change work and there are significant challenges in the work, we place great emphasis on you being flexible and open to change. We also see it as positive if you have experience working in a politically governed organization. To thrive in the role of Shift Commander, you need the ability to make well-founded decisions based on the organization's values and goals. It is important that you have a broad perspective and can see the whole picture in your way of working. As an Assistant Shift Commander, you must also be able to function as a firefighter and in the role of smoke diving team leader. Before employment begins, a suitability test will be conducted and you must have a passed medical examination. To obtain employment, you must be approved as a smoke diver according to the Work Environment Authority's regulations. Qualifications Approved and completed SMO, or GRIB together with experience in operational rescue service or older training that we consider equivalent. Driver's license at least category C LK 1 Shift Commander or older equivalent Meet requirements for smoke and chemical diving Supervision A with a passing grade Passed treadmill test according to AFS 2007:7 (not older than 3 months) attached to application. Good swimming ability at least Gold Badge certificate attached to application Driver's license BC Good cooperation skills Good administrative skills and computer proficiency You are engaged, driven, and responsible Meritorious: LK2 Operations Chief or older equivalent Snowmobile license CPR Instructor Managerial or leadership experience Other: Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
